On Jan. 1, my Angel passed away.  She was breathing heavy, so I took her to the vet on New Year’s Eve, and they x-rayed and saw the awful cancer had spread and caused water on her lungs. While they helped her feel better for a while, we had to let her go on New Year’s Day.

I love her so much, and I don’t know how I am going on. I have read about so many pets passing from cancer since Angel’s amputation in July, and I knew I would have to go through it, but I could never be prepared for this constant lump in my through and heavy heart. She was truly loved, and I know I did everything I could to save her, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way, but I wish I could have a do-over and go back a few years. Thank you all for your support during the fear I had of the initial amputation and chemo. I wish you all could have met her.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You must have some wonderful memories of your beautiful Angel. Will you share some with us? Tell us about her so we can get to know her, and post some favorite pictures, too. I hope that your memories of her can help you through this difficult time. I know how sad you are, and how much you're hurting right now. It takes time, but some day you will be able to smile when you think about her, even if it is through your tears.

Sending you strength and love,
Carol

So very heartbreaking to hear of your sweet Angel's passing.........we are never prepared to part with our loving companions, and it seems like the heartache goes on forever. As time goes by, the heavy pain will subside, and happy memories will fill your heart. But she will NEVER leave your heart.
Stay with the support here, and share stories about her, that will help your heart to heal as well.

Keeping you in my thoughts......

I'm so sorry to hear about your Angel. I recently lost my sweet boy too and like you, I knew one day it would happen, but I don't think there is any way in this world to ever prepare for such heart break. Angel will never be forgotten. She was a fighter, as tripawds are, and I'm sure all the tripawds past were there waiting to welcome her home. There are so many ways we can honor our babies. Our Jake was a rescue dog, and to honor his memory we are collecting items and making a donation in his name to the SPCA he was adopted from. I've seen beautiful pictures of memory gardens, memory books, etc. One of the things that really helped me was to tell Jake's story here. If you feel up to it, we'd love to see some more pictures of her and hear her story! {{Hugs}}

I am so sorry to hear of Angel's crossing.  Her story sounds similar to Sassy's at the end with the breathing.  I chose not to do anything and let her go that day because the options that were given were temporary and the fluid would come back and could come back worse and I couldn't let my girl go through that.  Angel is with many Warrior & Princess Warriors now and not sick.  Running & playing enjoying their time until we get to meet them again.  Run Free Angel RIP

Hugs

I am so sorry for your loss and incredible pain you must feel. Know that she knows how much you loved her and did all for her and that now she truly is your angel and will watch over you.

Sending you lots of love and healing energy ...

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

I'm so sorry for you loss.  There is comfort in knowing you did everything in your power to help her but it still hurts like hell to lose them.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Oh Sweet Tracy, I'm so very, very sorry. You know our hearts break with you and for you. This can be the saddest p.ace on earth so etimes...and today is one of those "sometimes".

Tracy, your Angelbop Knew how very much yoj loved her. She had more loving and spoiling than any hundred dogs do in their collective lifetimes! Angel took that love with her AND she left her love for you mestled safely in your heart. You may not feel it right now because your heart hurts too much...but her love is there.

Or whatever reasons, I missed so e of your blogs so I just went back and read every sngle one. Yeah, there were a few rough moments, but Angel's determination and courage always prevailed.

Yes, Angel ks a sweet and gentle soul...a mellow "senior", bt without question an Olympian Champion with fierce desire to savor everh secnd of life with you! And she accomplished that perfectly!

I love how she worked her way i to your apartment manager's heart and got "special permission" to do her business in an area "off limits" to other pets. Oh how the other furkids must have been jealous! They probably were trying to "hide" their fourth leg so they could get special potty privileges too!

Angel jumped into our hearts the first day you and she posted. That avatar picture is just about THE sweetest thing in tne world! Such a unique soul. She knew exactly what she was doing the day she picked you as her soul mate on this earth journey!

I love how she got used to stroller rides...got out when she wanted to sniff around and take a leisurely walk...and got back n when she got tired and had you push her around like Royalty in her Royal Carriage!

You gave her the most loving selfless gift when she let you know it was her time. She k ew she could count on you and trust you to be there for her when it mattered most. I know this was a hard post to write but I'm so grateful you shared this withus.....we love Angelbop too. She/we are family. Her life matters to us and we know ner life was well-lived and well-loved. Yes, we do knlw Angel and yes, we would love to hear more avout her when you can. Please, again, when you can, let us here more about wha she did to make you laugh, what yo did to make her tail wag, wnat her favorite food was and the loo she gave you when she wanted a treat.

PLEASE know this to be true.....we will never forget Angel here!! We are still on this journey with you and we will forever be inspired by Angel and the unbreakable bond you two shared.

Surrou ding you with Angel's eternal grace,

Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Oh Tracy, I know this took so much courage to come here and write. My heart just aches for you, I'm so very sorry. How I wish we could have met her in person too.

You two had such a special relationship and that bond, those memories, will fill your heart with love and comfort as time goes by. For now, all anyone can do is go through the grief and allow it to happen. I wish it was easier. Something that may help though is to write about her life in her blog, Share more of your adventures, we would love to hear all about your life together. If you do, remember that her story will always be there to put smiles on our faces and help someone in need.

Whenever we lose a member here, it hits everyone so hard. The comfort that any of us can take from this is that our heroes are not in pain, and they are a part of the heavens now with all of the other Tripawd warriors who inspired us so much. May Angel and all of our other heroes shine brightly for all time.
