I think I figured this site out, woohoo! I just wanted to share my pain of missing Skyler. I can hardly see the keyboard, as I have tears in my eyes. I know she is pain free, and is having a great time at Rainbow Bridge - but I miss her so much! Having Chloe (her sister/littermate) still with us helps, but it's just not the same. The Golden Girls are now down to one, and it's terrible. I know in time I'll feel better, but the loss is still so raw. Thanks to Tripawds and all of you who post here, as it has been a great comfort to me.
Welcome Cathy!
Thanks for joining! We are all so sorry about Skyler. She was a beautiful golden. Our hearts are so heavy with all of the losses of our heros. It seems so unfair.
But we are here if you need to talk!

P.S. is Jane holding up okay?
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
I am so sorry for the pain you are feeling, I wish I had some words to help with your pain of losing Skyler. Please remember that we all are here for you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I suppose I should have checked the forums before emailing you. I knew you could do it! Thanks for posting Cathy, and please accept our most sincere condolences. We presume Jane started this first topic about sweet Spirit Skyler.

thanks everyone, for your support. Jane is doing ok. I think what helps is seeing that Chloe is doing better these days. She still looks around for Skyler, but isn't whining any longer. I've been taking her on walks every day, and it has helped us both. Earlier today Chloe stumbled down the stairs a bit at the house, so we'll have to keep a close eye on her and make sure she is ok.
For anyone that wants to visist Skyler at Rainbows Bridge, here is the link: http://www.rain.....sident.htm
Thanks,

Hi Cathy,
I'm glad you found your way here- this is a great community and a place where all you have to say is "I miss Skyler" and we all get it.
My pug Maggie was a long time mast cell cancer survivor so I was keeping an eye on Jane's posts, hoping Skyler would have the same good outcome that Mag did.
I recently lost Mag, June 2nd, to a second unrelated cancer. I am so glad that I have Mag's little sister Tani (same parents, different litters) to keep me occupied. She is missing her big sister too. They were known by everyone as 'the pug girls' (I am still signing my posts that way).
I understand what you are saying- while its good to have Tani with me, sometimes it just makes it more evident that Mag is gone.
Sending strong and peaceful thoughts your way.
Karen and the pug girls
I am so sorry about your loss of Skyler. No words can really alleviate the pain, but you will get through this. Tears are a good thing to help you heal. You honor what Skyler meant to you by letting the tears flow as often as necessary, and you honor yourself as well.
Sending you comfort and peace.
Daisy, 12 years young, had left forelimb amp on 5/19/2010 due to osteosarcoma. She left her body behind and joined the other spirit tripawds on 7/16/2010.
So grateful for each day with her!
Lexi (Daisy's momma)
Cathy,
We're all here for you. This has to be such a tough time - it's good that you have Chloe - you and Jane and Chloe can help each other through. I wish you peace.
Sending huge hugs across the miles, and big licks from Holly and big clumsy paws from Zuzu (she'd hug you with them if she could),
Susan
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Cathy, Jane and Chloe,
We understand completely. And again, we are so sorry about your beautiful Skyler.
When our pack was no longer a unit, our world was shattered for a very long time. The hurt is so raw, there is nothing like it that changes your life so profoundly.
What we found that helped us whenever we felt like bursting out ito tears, was for every sad thought, we would instantly reach into our memory vault and grab a happy memory instead. While grieving is normal and fine, it's good to recall all of the special times together. Because after all, being happy is what our pups want for us. Life is too short, they say, to sit around in grief.
Allow yourself to feel it, but remember to Be More Dog , and live in the moment, and things will definitely get better.
Hugs to you all....

Just got home from a weekend away to Helen, GA. Stopped by Dahlonega cabin where we always took Skyler & Chloe for weekends of swimming & hiking. We spread Skyler's ashes at all her favorite spots. Of course, we had a few good cries. Coming home to a very happy Chloe really made our hearts smile again.
Cathy/Jane
What a sweet, loving gesture. Skyler will now always be home.
