Well, here we go...it's my turn....and I'm NOT doing well with it.  THIS SUCKS bad...thank you all for being here when Maggie was first amputated...thank you for reading Maggie's blog thru the years... I almost think fighting this kidney disease was FAR worse than Maggie's cancer.  At least with amputation, there is light at the end of the tunnel.  The light is VERY dark for CRF dogs :(

Tracy & now Angel Maggie

Maggie was amputated for soft tissue sarcoma 10-20-09

Tracy- Thinking of you and sending loving thoughts your way. What a wonderful team Maggie and you were. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and her story will help another dog and hopefully help someone to work for a cure or better treatment for CRF.

Luanne and Shooter

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.

Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.

Tracy,

We are so very sorry. I couldn't believe it when I saw your post, and our hearts go out to you, we understand the magnitude of her loss to your family is huge, as it is to our community.

Please know, there are no words that can truly describe the you and impact Maggie had, and always will have, on the Tripawds family. From the day you joined us nearly four years ago, you have generously shared your ups and downs of the cancer journey from diagnosis to recovery, to going on to win more titles and awards with your amazing girl. The number of people and dogs she inspired is too great to count but I know it is significant. It's stories like Maggie's that show people there IS life after losing a limb. And as a bonus if we stay conscientious and committed to the physical needs of a three-legged pup, that life can be incredible and just as good, if not better, than before.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to welcome us into your journey and help so many folks along the way, it is one that will never be forgotten.

I wish there was something we could say or do to ease the pain. For now, I will end with one of many beautiful photos of Maggie, which I hope can help dry a few tears today:

You and Maggie are so inspirational to this community. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

It takes a very kind soul who really loves their furkids to not be selfish and keep them around as long as possible. Maggie thanks you for listening to her. She sounds like she was ready to run agility in the sky.

Thanks again for sharing your story and being an inspiration. My thoughts are with you and Maggie, who is watching over you right now.

Heather

Barret was diagnosed with Hemangiopericytoma May 16, 2013. Front left leg/scapula/pectoral muscle was amputated on June 11, 2013 and we've never looked back. Follow our story on http://barret.t.....pawds.com/ and read my column on That Pet Blog

RIP Beautiful Maggie.  I'm so sorry for your loss.

Amy & Libby

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Tracy,

I was thinking last night that after all these years our Maggie's have finally met.  But I doubt they are hanging out- your Maggie is out running around and being Maggie-moo and making us all tired, and my Maggie is being her Spud self and sleeping.

For those that don't know, our Maggie's shared much on their Journey's- both rear amps, both beat their first cancers, both developed CRF.

We also were so fortunate to have years after amputation, but that does not make the parting any easier. You invest so much of yourself in your dog (or cat) with health challenges that when they are gone the emptiness is amplified. And your heart dog too...

I hope in the coming days and weeks you can find some comfort in the inspirational legacy that Maggie built, and know that her story of survival gives hope to so many.

Maggie will always, always be in your heart and so will always be by your side. She is right there beside you now, high stepping through your obstacles, ears up, waiting for her treat.

Tracy,

I am so sorry it ever has to be anyone's "turn" to write a post like this...it DOES suck. Maggie was such an inspiration--for us, doubly so. I have a cat who was diagnosed CRF at a young age, and while cats often have an easier go of it than dogs, it's not a fun thing to live with, so knowing what others are doing is always a reassurance.

You are in my thoughts. <3

Thank you everyone for your kind words...

To Karen - it is amazing our Maggie's shared much the same paths...actually I think my Maggie would enjoy hanging with your Maggie...she liked to "meandor" on her walks and stop and smell the roses are just "hang" was ok with her too..

To Jerry - I am glad to offer help when I can and I fully plan on keeping Maggie's blog going and open FOREVER...to support Tripawds .com and to also write to Maggie from time to time...  Gina and I also want to do a yearly "Maggie's Memorial Meandor" walk...with funds raised to go toward supporting Tripawds.com

To Sally - Your replies to my blogs and to this post makes me smile.  Thank you for that.  You have a way with words...

Signed,

A very sad Tracy

Tracy,

I am so sorry for your loss.  Maggie was such an inspiration and such a fighter.  I am thinking of you during this difficult time and wishing you lots of wonderful memories to reflect on and remember beautiful Maggie.

Kathy

Tasha was a German ShepherdBorder Collie mix who was diagnosed with OSA at age 8.  On December 29, 2011 she had her front right leg amputated and received 4 rounds of chemo.  Sadly and suddenly Tasha became sick and we discovered she had liver cancer that had spread to her lung.  After almost 19 months, Tasha earned her wings on July 17, 2013. No regrets and never forgotten.
