I am so very sorry to read about you having to say goodbye to Ruthie. It is always hard to read of another dog passing, but it seems to sting a little more when they are fighting the same type of cancer. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Amputation on 11/10/09, due to Histiocytic Sarcoma in left elbow. Angel Harley earned his wings on 06/24/10.
Pat...
I'm so sorry to hear about Ruthie... You gave her 7 more months after her diagnosis... Now she is at peace running free with all the other tripawd angels... including my sweet Jake. I can just imagine them all having a huge tripawds party up there... waiting til the day we're all reunited again.
You're in my thoughts and prayers... Rest in peace sweet Ruthie...

Pat, I am very sorry to hear Ruthie has lost her battle. There is never a good time to let go, but you have made that painful decision with love and grace. I, too, know Diane found inspiration in you and Ruthie. No doubt she will share your grief.
We all stand beside you and wish you days ahead filled with beautiful memories of the precious Ruthie.
RIP sweet Ruthie. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Pat and Spirit Ruthie,
Words will never adequately express how sorry we are to hear that Ruthie's battle has come to an end, but we hope that you will accept our deepest sympathy at this time. You fought very hard and were able to have these nearly nine months, but I also realize that we share the common hope that these brave warriors will be able to stay with us forever. There will always be a part of Ruthie with you for the gifts that Ruthie gave you will live with you forever. Please take come comfort that you were able to find the strength to let her go in an extremely dignified manner when it was time. I have often been asked how we can be with them when this time come, but I cannot understand how we could be anywhere else but comforting them.
Hugs to you and prayers for the day when you will be able to remember Ruthie with a smile.

Cemil and mom Mary, Mujde and Radzi….appreciating and enjoying Today
I have just now gotten to this thread since today of all days has been one errand and one appt after another...but Magic and I were able to spend several hours....our most important appointment of the day....with Pat at her wonderful place. Ruthie was indeed an inspiration to me as I saw her when I went to visit Magic for the first time after the surgery. I met Ruthie before I even saw Magic. Pat must have wondered who the lunatic was that ran up to her dog and started hugging her and probably blubbering (no dignity in this gal)....Ruthie was doing so well for so long that we kept looking to her to go forever, like all of the ones who are so far out.
This has been a period of losses....Ruthie was not my girl, but I shall miss her as though I had known her for years and not weeks....The hugs I gave Pat had all of your names included in them.
Pat, so sorry to hear of Ruthies passing. This journey we are on just sucks, I know what you mean about a young age, Gus is only seven. I never expected to dealing with something like this at this age. You have our sympathy, Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Pat - you will always be "Pat (Angel Ruthie's mom)" - and I believe that their beautiful spirits stay with us, watching us, until we can join them once again. Without a doubt, Ruthie will be there waiting anxiously for you.
Thank you, Diane, for including a hug from me. Better than a virtual one .... but .... when that's all we can send .... here are some more hugs coming your way, Pat. ((((hug))))) - and Golden licks from Sophie.
Take care,
Tana and Sophie

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

So sorry, Ruthie's Mom
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
