Due to complications from an infected back paw, my mom had to make the difficult decision to put down her dog Rocket (12.75 yrs old), a dog that I grew up with and was Chloe's (foster) 'sister' dog. Honestly, I believed that she would outlive my 3-legged goofball, even though she was only a few months older. Life doesn't always turn out how you expect, so its important to appreciate every moment. To honor her memory, I put a little tribute video together of every digital photo/video I could find of her and many are with Chloe of course.
Even though Rocket was a quadpawd, she was a part of our pack and its still hard to know that she won't be around when Chloe and I visit in a couple weeks.
We love you Rocket and we know that you are in a better, pain free, place.
I will remember you Rocket.
I will remember the time when you and Chloe first met,
how you became 'sisters', and took on the role of the bossy older one.
I will remember all the times I took you and Chloe to the dog park,
how you loved meeting other dogs and drooling all over the place (and my pants).
I will remember how you HATED walking on grass or dirt and preferred to walk on pavement,
even though you were a dog and dogs are supposed to love getting dirty.
I will remember how gentle you were with my brother's mischievous cat
who always liked to play-attack your legs and tail, but you never fought back.
I will remember how you eventually discovered 'squirrels' and 'lizards'
were animals worth trying to chase.
I will remember how you always loved being around you sister Chloe,
even when we came home to visit and all couches were Chloe's to take.
I will remember all the walks we took, the adventures we had, how sweet you were,
and how you will be missed by us all.
I will remember you Rocket.
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Awwwww... sweet girl... The Bridge just became more beautiful with your arrival!!! There are lots of squirrels and lizards to chase for a game of tag at the Bridge girlie... but just be careful with them, cause they are waiting on their loved one to arrive too!!
RIP Rocket...
Christine..... with Franklin in her heart ♥
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Nicole I'm so sorry, we're sending our condolences to you, Chloe and your Mom. 12.75 years is an amazing amount of time but it's never long enough is it?
The video was beautiful, it really showed the special bond that Chloe and Rocket shared. That song really gets me all choked up! But how nice to see their life (the everlasting treat ball chew-out was fun!) and that big fluffy tail of Rocket's. What a beautiful pup, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thank you all for your kind words and support. I did forget to mention she was an 'honorary' tripawd since the infection made her 'hop' like a tripawd during the last few weeks. My mom saw lots of "Chloe" in her with tail compensation etc...
Rene: yes even the song alone gets me all choked up. And they both loved chewing the treat ball! I caught a moment when they each chewed their own rather than deciding to 'switch' because the other one was better (same inserts!)
