A very sad day. Bruiser was let go. You can read his mom's blog here.
Farewell Bruiser.
"Last night we said goodbye to our sweet Bruiser. We were able to say goodbye to him in our home, with him comfortable on his favorite spot; the couch. It was devastating to say goodbye..."

Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
bruiser was a true tripawd hero. his work at the childrens hospital in denver showed the world that you can't keep a great guy down. so brave, so happy-go-lucky. we are so sorry to know he's lost his battle, but we just know that he's now continuing to lighten spirits and bring smiles in heaven. love never ends.
charon & spirit gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
(thank you for letting everyone know here Cometdog).
Bruiser has touched so many people, not just because of his size and incredible love of life, but also for the therapy work he did. Bruiser's memory will live on forever, but we will miss him so, so much.
Here is my absolute favorite:

Oh no. Poor Bruiser. Poor Bruiser's family. He was truly a hero and an inspiration.
Run pain free, you big gorgeous boy you!
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

I hadn't been updating myself on Bruiser lately and I am really so sorry to be reading of his loss today. He was a really special boy, his face reminds me so much of my own mastiff that I felt a connection to you both from the beginning.
I think that it was wonderful what you did with him and his pen pal, the video has tears rolling down my face.
He is now four legged again, no more pain. Run free Bruiser, until you and your family meet again.

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
I am glad you and Bruiser shared such a loving goodbye. Time may ease your pain ... but it will never diminish your happy memories of your furkid.

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.
