Yes, we all cry with you and so many ofus know the devasting feelingof the silent void in yor loves right now. We also know we cannot do one single thing to ease your grief...we can only offer comfort and understanding. These next months will be very jard and so empty. Missing the routines, the habits jist add to tje jeartache.

When you can though, remember that Charley wold not want to see you sad. Charley has nothing but the best of memories wrapped up safely in his spirit right now. As privileged as yo felt to have hime in your life...he felt just as privileged to have you n his.

And he knew yo would give him the most selfless gift of love when he let you knowit was time. And for that, he is so grateful.

Charley touced our jearts...as did the bond and devotio you sjared with each other. The treasured memories will come back slowly and help to push the sadness in the background. Charley would want that.

In fact, for jist one breif moment, close your eyes and thing of somethingyou did that made Charley wag that haapy tail! Maybe it was hearing the rattle of a bsg of treats...or just saying his name....feelit, see it...and now all is well in Charley's world and he will be with yo forever!

We will NEVER forget Charley! I hope you will continue to come here andpost morepictres and share more of his wonderful life. We are here for you, okay? We understand.

Love,

Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Thanks, everyone, for your messages.  I know you all understand where we're at. We're missing him terribly, still feeling the emptiness.  It sneaks up all the time.  But it's not quite as raw as it was.

Last weekend was my birthday, and John set up a photo shoot with Charlie for the three of us--with a photographer who is a good friend.  We're so pleased with the results.  I thought I'd share a few of the pictures.

Thanks again.

Heather and John

Charlie, our English yellow lab, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in February 2014. He became a tripawd on February 24th, with clear lymph nodes and lungs, but that didn't last long. After three doses of Carbo, in May 2014, x-rays showed lung mets. We briefly tried Palladia, which went well. Unfortunately, Charlie developed unexplained complications in his hind limbs. We said a reluctant farewell on June 11, 2014. Still miss our boy each and every day.

John, What a thoughtful and priceless gift this was to your wife. I can so feel Charlie in these pictures. The love is so apparent here. These are just beautiful! Thoughts and prayers to you as you navigate this time ahead. Unfortunately there is no way around, over or under it. We just have to walk through it. Just know that we are all here for you. Come here and continue to share your memories. It really does help. Love from, Lori and TY

Ohhh these are beautiful, what precious keepsakes to last a lifetime. How I wish we had done something like that.

Remember the love in his heart for you, and let that keep you strong through this difficult time.

Would it be OK if I shared one or two of these on social media? I'd love to give your friend some credit too, if they're on the web.

Thanks to you both.  Fine to share--we loved sharing that face with everyone.  They're posted on his Facebook page "Charlie Smiles".  My friend's website is http://www.pennyopa.com .

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

What precious, beautiful, photos that you have to keep forever!!!  How lucky you were to do that..  I am sure it it something that we wish we "had" done in many cases.

Our hearts break with you.. you know that.. we have all said it.  Many of us have been there, done that, and re-live the pain that you feel in your heart.... but, you have something that we don't.  You have Charlie in your heart.. always will have.. and you know it.   Nothing can take that away... ever!  And when all is quiet, and you are having a moment.. you can open your heart and feel your first true love.  Our bond with our furkids really is amazing because it does not end when they run for the bridge... it just gets put on hold.. until that day comes that they jump back into our arms and cover our face with sloppy kisses!

The pain does eventually fade, yes.. but the memories and love we have never do... and that is pretty pawsome!

Christine... with Franklin in her heart♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

That John...he's a keeper!!

I KNOW your heart still aches and the void is still so painful. There have been many helpful, posts under this thread and elsewhere tjatt I hope you've been able to find.

Also. if you search Tribute Leash....and maybe some of the computer wizards will see this and give you the links...anyway, it's a lovely way to celebrate Charley's extraordinary life with a little ribbon that you decorate with "Charley memories".

I saw that "Last Will...etc. that you posted under Bonmie's thread. Yeah, I firmly believe that. Charley will send you somene...maybe sooner than yoj think!

Holding you and John in my heart and surrounding you with Charley's eternal love and grac...and happy, joyful grin!!

Great great pictures I love every single one of them.  I totally understand how it hurts & how raw it still is.  It does get better with time but lets not kid ourselves we will still have those moments and still miss our babies.  I know I do and its coming up on 11 months.  This month would have been Sassy's birthday.  Last year at this time I was still hoping even with mets we would be able to continue our fight for a long time.

Back to the pictures.  Just beautiful and you can really really see the love that all of you had for each other

hugs
