Hello everyone,
well I wasnt very active recently on forum, had a knee operation so have problem sitting for long, but not a day goes by that I dont pay it a visit. It always makes me sad and happy at same time. Seeing so many lovely pups doing so well and unfortunately still so many losing their battle with this awful disease. But they are all heroes who fought bravely till last beat of their heart. Well, one of them was my Don – my golden boy that lost his battle 6 months ago,so has made him a tribute video. To be honest have never put any images or videos yet on forum so not sure if its going to work but will give it a try.
Well and news is as well, that  couple of months ago I brought a new being into my life, that helped me coping with my loss too – he is a 3 month old golden retriever puppy, named Taji (tryed to make an english pronunciation as write it differently with croatian letters). But  pictures of this little fur ball should maybe better post in some other topic.

charon & gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Daniela,
What a beautiful tribute for your beloved Don, the gorgeous golden! Your sweet pictures of Don show that he was a beloved member of your family.Â
We too lost our golden, Honey recently and have been coping with the loss of her presence in our lives.  It is never easy to lose a beloved one, but when you have battled this wretched beast (cancer) side-by-side with them and watched their grace and incredible flighting spirit, the bond is deepened, thus making the loss almost unbearable.Â
Dogs are the greatest of gifts to humans, but they leave us entirely too early. They must be too pure to stay longer.Â
Bless you and your family...and your new pup Taji. I hope the joy he brings can help fill the gaping hole from losing Don.
Hugs and hugs from Honeygurl's pack
Dx Osteosarcoma 3/31/10.  Amputation 7/21/10. Honey put up a valiant fight and lost her battle 9/22/10. Missing her and treasuring 9 years with our Honeygurl.

Very beautiful, Daniela. Don was a gorgeous boy, and so happy looking.Â
I, too, am happy you have elected to let a new little life into your heart. I know it is a tough decision.

Dear Daniela,
Your tribute to Don is so warm and wonderful. Like Fortis' father said, I could not watch all the way through the first time through. I lost my sweet girl JD just a few weeks ago and the pain someitmes surges so strongly. And then there are times I can remember her with a smile. I hope the love you had for Don can bring you some comfort, and the addition of a new pup to the family must be so fun.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful Don with us.

Daniela and Angle Don,
Words always seem to fail me when I realize that another of our brave warrior's journey has ended, but we hope that you can accept our deepest sympathy at this time. Your tribute is so very beautiful and moving. While it was hard at times to view the screen through all the tears, I saw a very handsome man who smiled very much during your wonderful life together. I myself am only months earlier than you, having lost my Cherry as last year came to an end, and only weeks ago bringing a rescue into my house. Don has made a very special place in your heart and Taji will carve out his own place in your soul. Taji will allow you to remember the wonderful times with Don with a smile. Above all, know that you will never totaly be without Don for the gifts that he gave you will live with you forever.
Bless you so very much for all that you have done both with and for Don, and for starting this new journey of discovery with Taji.

Oh Daniela, that was just beautiful. Oh the music was so lovely. Gosh, he was beautiful and so light colored. What a handsome boy. I'm so glad you came back - I've thought of you. You were so brave. And brave to come into a site of only English speakers.
What is the name of the song?

I had a big smile when I saw the pic of Don with sunglasses! I guess goldens all over the world love to put on sunglasses!

Daniela,
Don was a beautiful boy and your tribute to him very moving. It's so clear how much you loved him, and what an important part of your life he was. I love the picture of him in the babushka! I hope you're recovering well from your surgery. Chasing a puppy around sounds like great physical therapy!
Best wishes,
Lisa
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

What a beautiful song and a beautiful dog. Thanks for sharing this.
Chance, our 9.5 year old Rottie/Shepherd mix was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his left front shoulder. In July of 2010, we planned to proceed with the amputation, but lung mets were discovered. Chance reached the Rainbow Bridge October 1, 2010, just a few weeks after his 10th birthday.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. This site and lovely warm people really helped a lot during the hardest times. I am really thankful I came across it. It was not accidental I am sure.
Well, yes,Don was a really lovely great dog and companion, and I never in my worst nightmare thought he will end his life with such awful disease. Dogs just dont deserve that. But even in such misfortune they bring people together and teach every one of us of unbreakable spirit, living in the moment and learning when to let go.
No,Charon it isnt me playing, not in this recording 🙂 I used to play it though. Its John Williams's main theme from Schindlers list.
Well,I was having a hard time making decision to get another dog. For long time was convinced I will never have a dog again, cos a pain from his passing was just to much. He was my first dog as well. Not that I think it gets easier, it never does I am sure. But then again,in a blink of an eye house became so empty, coming back home with no one to greet you wagging his tail at the door,no one to take for a walk and take care of, just kept reminding me how much I have lost and it depressed me even more. I still think of him,and miss him every single day, there is always going to be a unhealed piece of my heart but this little pup is really making me smile again, and am really glad I got him – think Don is somewhere smiling too,and taking care of him. And if possible teach him not to put absolutely everything in mouth, and I mean everything, cos he isnt listening to me 🙂 But guess Don would just say – well, you wanted retriever again 🙂
So here are few pictures of him – got him with 8 weeks, has changed a lot since then,is almost 4 months now. He is very active but obidente as well,(except for eating part mentioned before),and likes to be cuddled and carried around, which isnt much fun now cause has 20 kg 🙂 In croatian we spell it Tadži, but not sure those letters make much sense to you.
Bless you all,
    Daniela

p.s. on picture before last are not two pigs, its Taji with his sister after a play in park…particulary mud part of it 🙂
