She is with me now and all is right again. I can put her in the big wooden box with Rugby. Just like old times!
I did get a jolt when I found one of her metal plates from her TPLO knee surgery in her ashes. I don't know if the other one is there - probably not. George had to explain they probably found and removed the other one and the screws but wouldn't have thought a dog would have two of them. It's only fitting I have it.
No tears for me tonight please because I have her now and that's what I wanted. I'd much prefer everyone have a cookie instead. It would be the Comet way!
Thank you all again.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Will do! Lots of Cookies and no tears! Next time Chloe and I go to the beach and watch the sunset, we will look for Comet up in the twilit sky!
-Nicole and Chloe
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Ranger will happily eat a cookie for Comet. I'm glad Comet is home. You know, I almost brought Sadie with me Sunday, then I had this "Meet the Focker's" moment and decided against it. After hanging out with Wyatt, I believe I made a good decision . I'm so glad you and George made the trip with me. We should do it again sometime.
Hugs and sloppy doggie kisses,
Lisa, Ranger and Spirit Sadie
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Ge'Lena.. I know what you mean exactly, when we lost our last dog Kodi.. things just werent right until he was back here with us. It is just comforting. Cooper and I are thinking of you tonight, no tears , just respect and understanding.

the monkeydogs only THINK they have invaded the tripawd state
But of course Comet wouldn't let you have it any other way - a memory of her knee surgery in her ashes. Now if that's not a message of love being sent to you.....I'm glad you feel good about Comet being home with you now. Now you can rest easy and know that you both are still together....always and forever.
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Thank you guys!
Yes, Lisa - it was fun! Well, I may have been more fun if it was, say... a couple of months down the road! But I'm glad we went!
I haven't seen the Focker's movie yet, but it reminds me of George momentarily thinking we should take Comet's body home with us that night! We could have put her on ice and taken her to Laughlin! A weekend at Bernie's for sure! Bet you wouldn't have wanted me to spend the night then!!!
Full disclosure, I thought the crematory had accidently lost something mechanical and it was in Comet's ashes! Thank goodness George knew or I would have been over here telling you what a sloppy job the crematory did! Something broke off and they put in Comet's ashes!

I'm sorry, I'm sitting here laughing at the thought of you finding that metal piece, and what was running through your head before George set you straight. Only you could make a comedy out of this - ok, I could, but most folks wouldn't.
I'm happy she is home and you are at peace. She can now watch over you as you did her.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

OMG Ge'Lena! I guess her TPLO plate would of 'jolted' me too! But I sure am glad she's back home with you and you're doing OK. Hugs to you!
Tracy & Maggie
Maggie was amputated for soft tissue sarcoma 10-20-09
Maggie lost her battle with kidney disease on 8-24-13
Ge'Lena,
I think you are amazing, being able to find the "funny" and the humor in this. I love how positive you are! Sammy and I will splurge tonight and share a cookie and think of you and Comet home again.
Many hugs,

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
I am glad that Comet is home with you, Tasha and I will share a cookie in honor of Comet. No tears today just the happy memories of the life of Comet and the joy we have shared with you sharing her with us.

It's one of those bittersweet moments isn't it? But the sense of closure and relief is a good thing. Welcome back Comet.
And remember G, there's nothin' wrong with carrying Comet's ashes around with you. I go everywhere with my pack! OK, well, I travel in the RV with them. My folks wouldn't think of leaving me at home.
And Captain Jack does too! Here he is with Laura.
Mexican sugar cookies for everypawdy today in honor of our Spirit Tripawds!
