It is with a broken heart that I share with you that Chili Dawg's appointment with doggie heaven came tonight. Ryan and I made the painful decision late last night- he was unable to walk anymore, and while he continued to smile and wag his tail, you could see in his eyes that the pain medicines were no longer working. My faithful companion and best friend is now pain free and whole again.
My mom took this picture of Chili and I together on Saturday- his last good day, and I wanted to share it with you. Chili Dawg, I will miss you and I love you so much. Run free of pain my special friend.
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
Oh Chili, our hearts are shattering tonight, we are so very sorry.
What a gift it has been to know you, thank you for sharing your journey with us, we will never forget it.
Much love coming your way Jenna. As much as it hurts, you did right by your boy. {{{{{hugs}}}}

Jenna and Ryan, I'm so, so sorry. You all fought the hard, brave fight with Chili. You rescued him from people who were bored and disinterested in his brightness. You gave him a best buddy in Finchy, and you gave him a job with those babies to protect. Chili found his true heart home, and he had a purpose. He healed some broken things and in return, you healed him when he needed it.
This is so sad because Chili had such spirit, but he did his job, didn't he? He put on the wings he was born with. I'm grateful you could make the hard decision and not make him linger. As we said the other day, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Shari, Dakota and Evelyn
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

we are so sad to hear of chili's passing. you gave him a final, selfless gift, by helping him to the bridge. hopefully time will help replace your tears with memories of the love you shared. love never ends.

the monkeydogs only THINK they have invaded the tripawd state
Oh Jenna, tears are just running down my cheek. I'm so sorry. I know that Chili was greeted by so many at the Bridge and I've asked my gaggle o'goldens (plus a labbie with a boo boo foot and a couple of kitties to keep them in line) to look him up and to run fast and play hard until you are together again.
Shelby and I will do our best to continue the fight........
Jenna,
I'm so saddened. Chili Dawg was a special boy. Losing him is only in body form, his love will remain in your heart forever.
I know your painful heart will ease from the grief in the distant future but for now, please know we are here for you to lean on during this very sad time.
My sincerest condolences.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
