Thank you everyone,
Charlie's Mommy and I are just overwhelmed with the love and support we received from you all. You made a huge difference in this difficult time for us, and Charlie's life was better for it.
After putting up a huge fight and three-legged kicking cancer in the butt, it was starting to take it's tole on Charlie. Yesterday Charlie let us know that he had no more fight to give and we made the decision to let him rest. He went to sleep peaceful and happy (if exhausted) surrounded by his family, and a belly full of bacon.
We have been sad, of course, but we have also been trying to honor Charlie by sharing our favorite moments and celebrating our time with him. We do plan on attending a local pet-loss support meeting this thursday.
Love to you all, and one day we hope to be half as helpful to others as you have been to us.
Oh ... I am so sorry for your loss. You gave Charlie the best final gift of all - bacon and eternal rest. He was so loved and we are all here to support and love you. Lean on us as much as you need.
Rest in peace, sweet Charlie! You are forever loved!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
My deepest sympathy on the loss of your wonderful Charlie. Charlie was so blessed to be surrounded by love through out his life...and have that love be there with him as he embarked on his final journey. May you find peace in the wonderful memories he has left behind as his parting gift to you. We never have these precious souls long enough...they bring us such joy in life and such heartbreak when their time is over...the price we pay for all they add to our lives.
many hugs...Trini and my Sketchie Boy
I'm so sorry. You made the decision we all have to make at some point. It is so hard. But you gave Charlie a great gift, to be free of his broken body. Time will heal the pain.

Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise
Tears streaming....so sorry it was time for Charlie to end his earthly journey...so ver, very sorry.
But my oh my, what a loved and happy boy! That Charlie really knew how to live life to the fullest. Every picture, every video, every post, all showed a well loved dog who just exuded joy. And you know what? I always sensed he was a wise "old" Soul. Not sure why I felt that, but I did.
A dog like Charlie knows EXACTLY why he picked you as his humans and EXACTLY what lessons he came here to teach you. For whatever reason, he felt his earthly mission was complete and he was ready to free himself from a failing body. I'm sure when he rturned "ho.e" to the Bridge, he had some great stories to tell, not only about what he taught, but what he also learned vy having such fabulous humans as his companions! I'm sure they all smelled the bacon on his breath and had the Angels fix them all up a big platter! Of course, at the Bridge they have the most delicious feast, so I'm sure the bacon was served with ice cream and drizzled in chocolate!!
The grief will be overwhelming and seemingly never-ending for a long, long time. The void, that awful, awful void....not having the day to day "routine"..it all, quite frankly, just sucks. We all here understand all too well. So stay connected and let us help you through this. You won't get over it, but you will get through it.
And yes, when you can, please, please share more stories AND pictures of sweet Charlie! We all fell in love with him ya' know! As Jerry always reminds us, those last moments were just a blink of an eye compared to the thousands and thousands of great spectacular days Charlie had with you!
We are family and we are so privileged to have the honor of being on this journey with you and Charlie. He will never be forgotten here!!
We look forward to mlre delightful stories about sweet, wise Charlie.
Surrounding you with Charle's eternal grace znd happy smile

Ohhhh guys, you were on my mind yesterday, I was wondering how things were going with you and your sweet boy. I'm really, really sorry, you all fought so hard and showed the world that numbers and statistics don't mean anything as long as quality of life rules the pack. As hard as this was, you did right by him up until the very end.
You and Charlie ROCKED life on three legs. It breaks our hearts to know he's an angel now, but never forget that he left a legacy here for future members who aren't sure about this very tough decision. We can't thank you enough for sharing your journey with us through all the ups and downs. When you feel up to it, we'd love to celebrate his life with you and enjoy his life in photos and video, like this one:
Run free Charlie, our Tripawd angels are waiting to play!
