Joy, I am so sorry to see Champ passed. I think alot of us have trouble coming back here for awhile after we lose our buddies. Time holds a magic that will help you heal. Too many of us know that empty punched in the gut feeling you are having right now. Whether you feel comfortable enough to come around in time is only something you will decide, but you will always be part of the family. Our thoughts are with you, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
Joining all of the others in sending your my most sincere condolences. It is so hard to lose our dogs, our family members. As has been said so many times before in different postings, perhaps we are even closer to these beautiful souls because we are consumed with their well being for weeks, months and sometimes – the lucky ones – for years.
When I lost Sophie it took awhile to come back to Tripawds because I felt every loss just as strongly as losing my beautiful girl all over again. We bond to people and dogs we have never even met. We have shared such a heartwrenching experience with strangers - they become like family and their pain is ours.
This is the family that nobody wants to belong to – but it is one of the strongest, most resilient group of people I have ever encountered. Joy, you are one of us. When, or if, you want to check in with the family – thanks to Jerry and Rene – and the rest of this incredible group – you will be welcomed with outstretched (virtual) arms and given whatever support we can provide.
I am so sorry that your Champ has finished his journey here. You will miss him forever. But the pain will lessen in time.
Take care,
Tana and Angel Sophie

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

Joy, I'm so very sorry to hear this news. We've been on vacation and I've not had a computer handy, so please forgive me for being late. You gave Champ the very best. It was apparent how much you loved him. It is never easy to let them go, and the pain lingers for a really long time. The happy memories one day make it easier for you to talk about, but almost four months into it, I still miss Trouble as much today as I did the very first day.
Be kind to yourself as you heal, and give yourself time.
RIP sweet Champ. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

A lot of us here understand the kind of grief you are going through. I just lost my girl on June first, and the pain and tears and hurt is all still very fresh...Just take one day at a time. They will be hard at first, and maybe even for some time, but keeping putting one foot in front of the other. Your baby is still with you! Know that some day, you will be reunited.!
