Last night we decided to end his pain after finding that the cancer had spread to his spine. I am at a loss! He did so well with his amputation and chemo was a breeze, but 1 month after chemo it all came back. He never let us see his pain. I hope he is happy now that the pain is gone, but I don't know how to cope.
I love you Brutus!
This is so heartbreaking, I'm so sorry to hear this. Cancer is so unpredictable, please know that you did everything possible for your sweet boy.
Our hearts go out to you and your family. May Brutus run free and like a puppy forever with all of our Tripawd angels.

Jack Russell born in 2001. Mast cell cancer found Dec 2009 and right rear amputation. Five rounds of chemo done before all treatment stopped. Living life to the fullest!! Read my story at http://rizzo.tripawds.com
I'm so sorry you didn't get to have more time with your boy. There is never enough time with our pups.
Hopefully some day sooner than you think, you'll be able to remember him with more smiles than tears. That is what Brutus would want, i'm sure.
Run pain free, Brutus!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
So sad for you on the loss of your beautiful Brutus. You both fought so hard right to the end. Brutus is now at the bridge with the tripawds pack, running free. Thinking of you today as your grieve for your sweet boy.

Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. Brutus was a beautiful boy. Please know that your family will be in my prayers for peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

He knows it and will never forget that. I'm sure he is looking down on you and telling you how much he loves you for the wonderful life you gave him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please take care. Dani
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful Brutus. You just never know where the cancer might turn up. That's why cancer really sucks. Please know that you did everything you could for Brutus. Sometimes the cancer is just too strong.
Sending you lots of hugs and prayers.
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
