We said goodbye to our sweet Boomie on Monday. He had started having grand mal seizures a couple of weeks ago. After putting him on medication, he seemed better, and although he continued to have lots of little “spells” where he would wobble or even fall down, he would get back up literally in a second, like someone turned a switch off and right back on. And he was acting like himself: happy, responsive, still moving around on his own with an assist from his harness. Last Friday, the big seizures came back with a vengeance. Saturday we started him on another medication, which left him unable to walk or even sit up until it was almost time for the next dose, and he was still having many small seizures. By Sunday, we realized he wasn’t going to get better, and it was time. I waited till Monday so I could have my regular vet do it, and not some total stranger.
In spite of my grief, I feel relief that Boomie is no longer suffering, and he really only had a few bad days at the end. He had a good life, beating the odds for cancer survival and even growing old, as a beloved pet should. And for that, I feel grateful. I could not have asked for anything more.
Cindy and Boomie
Boomie's leg was amputated due to osteosarcoma on May 15, 2008. He enjoyed over two and a half years of life after that, one day at a time. He died on Feb. 21, 2011.
Cindy.. we are so sorry for your loss of Boomie. there are really no words to ease the pain , but you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Love Never Ends
Very sorry to hear about Boomie's passing. What a great thing that he lived such a full life beating cancer, and didn't really suffer at the end.
Zack, King of Dogs, 1996 to 2010
Zack lived a full 14 years, even to the end.
The joy and memories he provided us will last a lifetime.
Surviving him is his sister, Izzy, a 12-year-old boxer mix quadpawd.
And the latest addition, Zula, an 11-month-old pit bull mix tripawd.
Cindy, my sincere condolences for your loss of Boomie. Despite your deep sorrow at his parting, I admire your acknowledgement of gratitude and relielf that he is no longer suffering. There must be much comfort in that.
Rest in peace, Boomie.

I am just so sorry to hear of Boomie. Doggie heaven is once again blessed with a beautiful fur baby even though it hurts so badly here on earth.
Oh, but the memories! The wonderful memories will get you through these dark days. They are those precious things that we can actually hold onto in our heart.
I'm just so sad for you and your family.
My deepest condolences,
