Beacon tried so hard. He won many battles but lost his war with synovial cell sarcoma and lymphoma. He was always a high drive dog which was what gave him 8 months of good quality life after his front leg amputation and first diagnosis in March, 2009.Then a second cancer, lymphoma, joined forces with the synovial cell sarcoma to defeat him. Beacon had two chemo protocols during his 8 month battle. He so wanted to live but when the lymphoma suddenly went to his eye and it became painful and he lost his vision, it was time.
Thank you so much for your support and for being here. You guys got me through a lot of tough times.
Susan, missing Beacon everyday, forever.

Oh Sue, we are so sorry to hear about Beacon. But we do appreciate the update. Please know that by sharing Beacon's story here you are certain to help others face the same struggles with their own dogs. Peace.

It's so hard to say "good-bye", I like to think it's more of "until we meet again". I wish you peace as you muddle your way through the grieving process. You're not alone..we send love and hugs your way ~.
Much Love

Thank you for your kind words. I know you have also lost dogs to cancer and that you do understand. At least Beacon was an old man and not striken until late in his life. He had a very healthy, happy and enrich life. But somehow i wasn't ready. i guess we are never ready.
I am sorry for all the sadness we all face but the amount of joy on this list is incredible.
Thank you,
Susan
Susan,
I am so so sorry to hear about Beacon. Eight months just doesn't seem like enough. You will be in my prayers. I lost my Emily Nov. 10 so I know what you are going through.
Debra
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
I am so sorry that you lost Emily. I read so many of your posts about her, i felt like I knew her. And she was so young. I am so sorry. My vet said Beacon would get his missing leg back so maybe he and Emily are running around together, racing eachother with all the other ex tripawds. I wish i knew, it is such a lovely thought.
Susan
I am very sorry Beacon lost that last war. Eight months is a long fight. I hope your sorrow will soon be replaced by happy memories .

Susan,
I'm so sorry to hear that your sweet Beacon lost his battle with cancer... Beacon fought hard and made it 8 wonderful months... But no matter how long he had, it's never enough time... I know that you miss him terribly... It's been only 5 weeks (tomorrow) since I lost my Jake... and my heart is still so broken.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time... Sending you a big hug!!

Susan,
We are very sorry to hear of your loss and would like you to accept our deepest sympathy. Beacon certainly fought hard, which is a tribute to the quality of his life both before and during this battle. Our companions are never with us physically long enough, but know that you will never be without Beacon for the gifts that he gave you will be with you for the rest of your life. May you find peace in the knowledge that you were a wonderful pawrent to Beacon and praying for the day when you will be able to remember Beacon with a smile and not just the canyon of a hole of loneliness.
