Julie,
Words cannot fully express how sorry we are to hear that Etta's battle has come to this end and hope that you can accept our deepest sympathy at this time. I am fond of saying that you are never totaly without our companions because the gifts that they have given will live with us forever. It sounds as if Etta's gifts will live with so very many and that is a tribute to the wonder life you provided. We were blessed to know of Etta's story. It is very clear that the love of life that defined Etta is a result of the loving environment that you provided. Take as good care of youself as you would have Etta, give youself plenty of time to deal with the grief, and hold Etta's memories very tightly. Far too many of us know of what you are going through, and I want to assure you that we will be here if we can help.

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

so sorry to hear of your loss. you gave her a final selfless gift by letting her continue her journey in the next form. this is such a sad time for all of our friends, seems too many are leaving too fast. our thoughts are with you, and as we've had to repeat too many times lately..remember - love never ends.

I am so sad to hear Etta has passed away.....always found her very lovely and had great hopes in her recovery as she did so well. It just makes me hate this awful illness even more,it just sucks 🙁
I know there are no words to comfort you right now but you can really be proud on your brave old girl, she fought so bravely. I know what kind of emptiness in heart leaves a departure of our preciouse fur friends and companions, its just beyond words. I guess only comfort is in knowing they are free from all this pain and running free again on thier 4 legs, and it should be enough to even through tears put a smile on your face.
Be at peace sweet Etta and run free ...

I'm so sorry to hear about Etta. She was a beautiful girl - and touched so many people. Words are failing me - my tears won't stop with all the heros we've lost in the last few days and weeks. Our heros teach us so much - may you find comfort in all that Etta did for you.
Sending hugs and prayers,
Holly and Zuzu and Susan
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

So sorry to hear about Etta, I know we keep hoping these guys are just hitting a bump in the road, I just wish it wasn't such a big bump. It sure is funny how even though most of us never meet our tripawd family members we seem to know them so well, and how with every loss it seems we have experienced it seems to touch us all, this just sucks. For all of you who have lost there companion lately and everyone who is on this crappy road, we are so sorry, Gus and myself wouldn't have been able to handle this journey the way we have without each and every one of you, and hope we can help you in some way the way you have helped us. Our sincere sympathy, Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
