Jackie,
I am so very sorry to read that Abby's earthly adventure has come to an end. My heart aches knowing the pain of loss that you are having to endure tonight. Both you and Abby spread so much life, laughter and love throughout this community. I know from your wise and kind words to others navigating this crappy cancer journey that you are above all else, a very strong woman...you will find peace in time and gain strength from the incredible love you shared with Abby.
Love NEVER dies.....

rockyandme, I love that thought, thank you for sharing it.

Jackie and Mike-
So very sorry for your loss, sending tear filled hugs your way.... Abby is hanging out at the beach everyday waiting for you! Maybe if you listen in a sea shell you'll hear her barking!
Mary, Lucy's mom
Lucy's front right leg was amputated 12/19/11. Thankfully there was no tumor, but her nerves were found to be degenerative. Life as a tripawd is Lucy's new adventure!!
I am also so sorry to hear about precious Abby. Knowing that all our kids are together up there gives me a little comfort though.

Oh, I am so so sorry to hear that..I know it's so hard for us to part ways for now with our best friends. It's hard to even read here on this site being at the beginning of our cancer journey, but Abby's story and journey have given us strength and courage.I really like what redbud said up there, and truly appreciate the support you and Abby have given me and Happy..Lots of Love to you and your family <3
I haven't been online for several days and I am so sad to hear about Abby. Although I haven't been active on the site for very long, I so enjoyed reading your posts — and admired Abby's wisdom and humor! I know how much you must miss her. Please find comfort in the gratitude and caring of your many friends from Tripawds.

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.
Thanks everyone for the nice words. I hope Angel Abby will continue to share some wisdom adn humor with us. I know she is up there flirting with everyone, kissing anyone that will hold still long enough, and darting around showing off her new wings.
The Tripawds community has been a tremendous support to us during this hard time and we appreciate it so much!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Jackie,
Just had to say that I love the avatar! That bit of shiny reflection/halo-bling is perfect for Angel Abby! Still think of you every day and still say a little prayer for you every day.
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Yes, isn't her halo so perfect for her?? Ge'Lena (Angel Comet & MBBVP's mama) added that for me. The sparkle really helps catch Abby's super special personality. I love it.
Thanks again to Ge' and to everypawdy for the thoughts and prayers.
Virtual, non-awkward hugs to everyone,
Jackie, Angle Abby's mom

Awwww. You are so welcome!
Abby was a "sparkly" kind of girl and deserves a BIG sparkly halo! She proves to us that it's about the quality of time we have and not the quantity! Her little short life impacted so many!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
My eyes are filled with tears for your loss of sweet Abby. She is with all the other fur kids we have lost...happy, healthy, and playing large in heaven! I know how hard this loss is for you...Know that you are being thought about by so many, including me and my fur babies!
Hugs hugs hugs!
Oh baby, do I ever sparkle! You think my halo is good, you should see my wings! They are white and fluffy and shimmery and I can jump way higher than you now!
I will try to send you a special shooting star, Monkeybutt. (And you can go ahead and call me ScAbby - I know it is a term of endearment cuz you LOVE me.) I am going to send you some kisses while you are sleeping tonight so you will dream of me, your special girl.
Heavenly kisses,
Angel Abby
