The banner is beautiful! It was the first banner that popped up when I clicked in this morning. Beautiful job Jim.
Jackie,
We would have loved to meet her in person! She was so special.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Jackie & Mike -
We can't imagine the pain and loss you are feeling. Please know that you and Abby touched our hearts in a very special way with all of the kisses, love for life, humor and of course the flying Dutchmen you talked about. She must be the envy of all dogs in heaven with her beautiful wings and pink cape.

Crap. Just did my first post where I signed as "Angel Abby's mom". Surprisingly hard to do that...
Guess i need to get used to it.
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
(Just did it again... typed Abby first and had to backspace to add in Angel... Sigh. Sniffle.)
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Jackie,
I saw your reply on the post about Mac before I saw this, and the first thing I thought of when I saw your signature was how hard that must have been. You have been on my mind all morning. God bless you.

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Abby was an angel all along, Jackie. I know she had her "other" side, but that's ok. For your family, she was always an angel. When I think of her this morning, I see her wings and her pink cape, but I see the tiniest tip of a little red devil tail peeking out from under the hem of the cape. Just enough to keep things interesting over there.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/

My stomach dropped and tears filled my eyes when I logged onto Facebook this morning and saw the post about Abby. I am so sorry for your loss and I know there are no words that can comfort you at this time. She was a beautiful dog who had amazing pawrents. She was a fighter and inspiration to so many. Thinking of you during this difficult time.
Kathy and Tasha
Tasha was a German ShepherdBorder Collie mix who was diagnosed with OSA at age 8. On December 29, 2011 she had her front right leg amputated and received 4 rounds of chemo. Sadly and suddenly Tasha became sick and we discovered she had liver cancer that had spread to her lung. After almost 19 months, Tasha earned her wings on July 17, 2013. No regrets and never forgotten.
I logged in for just a second this morning and saw the topic, closed it down and cried. I knew it was coming, but that doesn't seem to make it any easier.
Jackie, you and Abby have always been such a positive and fun influence here, and I have laughed and enjoyed so many of Abby's "tales" and monkeybutt fights. I am sure she couldn't have had a better family than you, she loved every second of your life together, of that I have no doubt. Thanks for sharing her with us, she really is a special girl, now she can meet so many of our good ones that have gone before. Run free my friend Abby, your passing leaves a large whole in all of our hearts, but it is worth it to have known you.
Elizabeth

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
I am so sorry to hear about Abby. She was very inspirational to me through the blogs, her pictures, and your helpful responses as Dixie went through her amputation. Thank you for helping us through our experience by sharing your own experiences of your beautiful sweet Abby. I saw Abby's tribute post on Facebook this morning and it took my breath away. I can't imagine what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
