VALENTINA
There You were, The perfect spotted puppy
You stole my heart and I took You home
I never thought I'd be so lucky
With You by my side I was never alone
You romped and played and squirmed and squiggled
Bit my sleeves and Oh how I giggled
You grew and grew and became so BIG
And my what big holes you could dig
You chewed and chewed and chewed things up
But boy you were one smart pup
You learned obedience and some tricks
And also gave me loving licks
We went for walks and had many talks
In the kitchen You would lay at my feet
There is no better company that I could keep
You fetched your toy and You were such a joy
You were the Dog of my Dreams
And you gave me "Dane Leans"
You were the most beautiful Dog, the prettiest I've ever seen
A bond like this I could have never forseen
You were the light of my life and completed my soul
But before I knew it I realized You were getting old
You comforted me when I was sick and Wow the time went by really quick
Then one day I discovered that you were sick
I tried to help You stay but it didn't turn out that way
My heart began to ache and I knew the step I had to take
You gave me all your Love but now You are up above
My world feels lonely now
I wish I could hug you again somehow
The Love that we shared is something that will last forever
I won't forget You, never ever
At Rainbow Bridge You will be restored
Back to the strong and healthy Dog that I adored
VALENTINA was your name
And without You my world will never be the same
I Love You My Sweet Valentina
Written with Immense Love from your Mommy

Beautiful poem. It says so many wonderful things. I know you are heart is breaking. But she was such a gift.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
A beautiful poem. The emotions just threaten to swamp you, don't they? Writing is cathartic and a good way to let some of your feelings out and share your love for your baby with others. Well done.
Beth and Spirit Smilin' Sammy
Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.
We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.
They definitely leave a bottomless hole in your heart. But she would want you to look to the future and find a way to get your smile back. Of that I'm certain. I don't know about your Valentina, but Rio was all about finding a way to make me smile. Even now, missing her as I do, with that ache that seem infinite, I only need to think of her to find another smile.
