I'm so glad that you were able to get encouragement from Murphy's story, Marla. We have been on a camping trip and had no Internet access all week. When I am away from the site for several days, I sometimes have trouble remembering which threads to check to see what is current.

Daisy has been on my mind, though. How is she doing?

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

We are on the Oregon coast, and I just had a few minutes with a wifi connection, so had to check in. The romp on the beach has exceeded all expectations. Once we get home at the end of the week, I will try to figure out how to post some amazing videos. Murphy even learned to fly a kite!

Oh what fun your adventure was! Well darn, Faceborg videos can't be posted in Forums due to the type of embed code they use. We can embed just about everything else, have you ever considered getting a YouTube account? It's just as easy to upload there. And of course more people will be inspired by seeing him!

Hey how is your place in Idaho? We thought of you when we heard about the fires. We hope all of you and your home is safe.

Maybe when I get a few minutes, I'll have to sit down and check out YouTube or one of the online photo sites.

We are quite far from the fires this year.  Last year the huge Halstead fire came close to our cabin in Stanley, but the big one right now is in Sun Valley.  We had a post last night that Dr Acker has had to evacuate the clinic and move everyone down the road to his brother's clinic in Bellevue, ID.  They have evacuated 1600 homes the last I heard.

Oh I'm glad to hear that you guys are safe, but that's so scary for your Doc and everyone over there. I hope they bring that thing under control.

Yes, check out YouTube. The online photo sites will charge after X-amount of space is taken up by your videos, YT is free.

I think I have conquered the Photobucket thing and will try to post a couple of videos. One was taken back in February, the week after the hip replacement. The other was taken early in August on the beach at the mouth of the Columbia River in Oregon.

I've managed to post from the PC, but this is the first Ttempt from the iPad. Hope it works!

Oh WOW! I loved seeing the before and after videos, what an amazing recovery.

Murphy, you look fantastic. Who's the Golden quadpawd? You're running circles around him!

Love your energy kid, keep it up. Thanks for sharing the movies, feel free to share more.

That is Gus, Murphy's big buddy. He's 11 years old and slowing down a bit, but Murphy keeps him young. He's a beanie baby, too, which is fortunate for him. He's terribly allergic to chicken, and so many dog treats/foods are chicken based.

A couple more videos, just because I've figured it out.  These are both of Murphy swimming.  He loves his bright yellow Float Coat .  It makes him VERY excited when he sees it.  The video in the pool was the week after he was cleared to just be a regular dog, taken at my daughter's house in California.  The one at the lake was at Cascade Lake, Idaho in July.

Well Murphy is about the fastest swimmer on three legs that I've ever seen! But for 11 years old, Gus isn't doing so bad himself. What's a beanie baby? I missed that.
