I would like to introduce the newest member of our pack. She is a 10 month old Puggle (pug x beagle), I adopted from Northern California Animal Rescue. She is on the small side, she makes Obie look stout! She got out and was hit by a car, and her family could not pay for her bills so she was turned over to rescue.
She has been with us since last Saturday and is fitting in OK. She is pretty attached to me and she barks at my dad occasionally. She gets around really well and can do stairs without a problem. She is pretty strong but didn’t get much walking time at her foster so we are going slowly. I got the stroller out of storage which she took too like she was entitled! Obie is wary, but he is starting to show interest in her. She is understandably quite frightened by traffic and traffic noises. Today she mastered the dog door.
She is also a picky, dainty eater…I’ve never had one of those before!
So please say hello to Miss Elizabeth Bennet, known to her friends as Elly, or Elly Bea for the two name crowd. I’ve been calling her Elly belly because she LOVES tummy rubs.
Karen and the Spirit Pug Girls, and Obie too
Tri-pug Maggie survived a 4.5 year mast cell cancer battle only to be lost to oral melanoma.
1999 to 2010
What a sweetie! Let the games begin! I can just picture the cartoon ballon over Obie's head as he is thinking up ways to make you pay.
Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
CUTENESS ALERT!!! NO! WAIT!!! ADORABLENESS ALERT!!! NO! WAIT!! ADORABLY CUTE ALERT!!
Okay, all of the above!!
Welcome to your forever home Miss Elizabeth Bennett / Elly Bea Belly!!
She's smaller than Obie? That's one tiny dog!
Elozabeth Bennet is going to blossom being with you and your Dad and Obie too. It's funny that Obie is taking his time getting acquainted. Just a Pug thing I guess.
I'm glad Tani and Pug Maggie picked out a youngster for you...a TRIPAWD youngster! 🙂 A retired human needs a three legged puppy to help enhance their work free life!!

She's perfect!!! And she hit the super jackpot with you and your dad! She is one lucky girl!
Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Pawesome. Congratulations! We'll need to come up with a new Tri-Puggle t-shirt design...

Thanks everyone. She is gaining a bit of confidence and even got a little pushy with Obie over a bully stick so I will have to keep an eye on that. I do believe she is part pug...she sleeps a lot!

Obie is not a typical pug, most are quite outgoing and friendly. Because of his first home he is quite shy around pretty much everything that moves.

Being retired does not mean work free! It does mean though that the work is what I want to do
...but I've never seen a black and white one!
I haven't either. When I asked the rescue lady if the original owners had any info on her breed she said they kind of guessed. I'm thinking maybe a second generation puggle which is a puggle x puggle. From what I have read the second generation pups can have much more variations.
We'll need to come up with a new Tri-Puggle t-shirt design...
In the meantime, I thought I would just add 'gle' to one of my Tripug Power sweatshirts, I think I have an extra or 5 laying around.

We miss you Pea Pie
OMGosh!!!! I can't believe I didn't know that you expanded the family! Congratulations, she is beautiful!
I have been MIA due to (1) being completely exhausted from my two, and all of their issues and (2) switching to an Ipad which is damn near impossible to type on with any significant speed. I am so sorry that I wasn't around to tell you how wonderful this is!

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...
