We are letting Porthos go tomorrow morning at 9am (it is 740pm here now) because of mets on his spine and possible lung mets.
He is not moving around much but is still panting allot, I have given him 3 x Gabapantine 1 hr 40 minuets ago, he is around 46 kg.
I do have tramol in the house but that does make him pant, what should I do to make this last night a little more comfortable for him? is 3 x Gabapantine enough for a 46kg dog with mets on his spine?
Thank you, thank you,
Amanda and Porthos

Amanda, I'm just so very sorry that you will be having to say farewell to your boy.
He is a lucky boy to have you all as his family...and he will never be far from you. I know from experience that the pain will be simply overwhelming at first but it will soften and the memories WILL become even sweeter.
You are trading his pain for your own now but I'm sure that he taught you some life lessons that you will come to understand and cherish.
sending thoughts for comfort and peace...and gentle hugs to you all....

I hope you were able to keep him comfortable. I'm sorry you didn't get a reply last night, I know Wookie is facing big challenges himself right now and wasn't able to comment.
All of us are thinking of you today. We are so sorry.

I'm just so sorry to hear about Porthos and my heart goes out to you at this ...... I can't think of a word to describe this time, that your family is being put through, that doesn't express the emotion's that are flooding through you at this time.
I know when I lost my Fizzly it was when she herself, had told me that she was ready and just tired, and I'm sure that Porthos has expressed this himself.
It's this thought that now will mean absolutely nothing at this moment, but its something that has given me solace when I could acknowledge after the hurt, but the fact that Fizz, as Porthos is now telling you that he's ready to go, and go on his terms
This has helped me to come to a place now that is happier, with the knowledge that they made the decision to move on when they wanted to, and not before they were ready,
I honestly don't think you could wish more than that, please know that if I could take away, a lil bit of hurt from you then I would gladly take it all.
I'm just so sorry that you have to make this decision, but do it because Porthos is ready, though we never will be ready or willing to lose them ever ....
Sending you all my love, and hoping that the knowledge that Porthos, has sent out his love across and ocean, and I am sending his love back to you, to keep forever <3
love to you and all your family

Amanda,
I am so sorry the journey has come to an end. It is never easy, and just making the decision to let it end is such a tough one. My thoughts are with you.
