That is good news about the xrays.  You are right Wobbler's is usually a chronic thing.  Acute back pain is most often an inflamed intervertebral disc or muscle or cancer mets to the vertebrae.  Unfortunately only an MRI can confirm but sometimes the cancer can be seen on an xray so clean rads are always good!

My Pitbull Kona would get muscle spasms sometimes (she did not have OSA just bad arthritis) and the Chinese herbal treatment Body Sore often helped.

Great to hear he is improving and you had moral support for the xrays.   Great news it was ok.

Thinking of you and hope the rope help 😉  remember anytime you need to talk I am here.

Thanks, Pam, for the info......can I just say I'm glad you didn't post this yesterday? Sally's rope would not have held me.

And thanks, everyone for the support, couldn't walk this road without you!

Good news!!! That's what we like to hear. The narrowing of the spinal column (spinal stenosis?) sounds like it could also be age related. I know that people can get it as they age. Keep up the good work.

Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Paula has a love/hate relationship with the ledge.  It's ok Paula we will always pull you back from that place.  Even if I have to jump in my car as a last resort to literally and physically pull you back.  We've got your back always!  Love you my special little friend!

I'm so glad that Nitro is feeling better!

And yes, I know how you feel about those x-rays, but it is kind of nice knowing that they're good.

Hugs to you!!

LOL!! I almost spit out my drink as I scrolled down and read this!  Paula I'm right with you!! Chemo bills are making this Christmas a very frugal one for all! haha! Who needs 2 kidneys anyway??

SO GLAD to hear there was nothing malignant or terribly wrong with Nitro. And with 28 xrays I would hope that's a good certainty! Hopefully they can continue to manage him with other treatments. Its fantastic he tolerates the acupuncture needles so well!! (well for your husband anyway haha 😉 )

So happy he is doing better and did so well at his appointments and that x-rays really did not show anything truly ominous.

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

Hooray for clear x-rays! I am so glad Nitro is better! Isa has back issues too - she had a cortisone shot into her spine that worked miracles but she may have different issue(s). but it was described to me as an "old lady back."

28 x-rays? shesh! that's crazy. Waiting all that time you must have been nearly psychotic.

hmmm, I hadn't thought of the kidney idea. I will keep that in mind.

I'm so glad Nitro is on the mend.

Hugs

I was just glad my daughter doesn't start college until next year!  Trying to handle tuition and vet bills at the same time would have been tough.  Would be a shame if my daughter had to take a year off to work so she could afford her tuition.  (Kidding)

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Quick update on Nitro.....the numerous x-rays showed some arthritits in his right knee (the leg that is exhibiting the weakness), and a vertebrae in his neck has some calcification, most likely contributing to his neck pain. So armed with this info, his holestic vet can proceed with the acupuncuture in the areas that need it most. That, and meds to keep the inflammation under control, and we are good to go. Thanks again for caring...
