Hi all!
Our dog Howard is a 10yr old mastiff Mix and prior to amputation he weighed 110lbs. Post amp he is 89 with a diet plan. He was diagnosed with primary hemangiosarcoma 1 week ago and the surgeon has never seen it and neither has the oncologist we will be visiting with next week. She stated she won’t recommend chemo but I’ve read some stories in This forum where it was used. Any advise would be great, or chemo plans used would be great too
Did they do an ultrasound of the liver and spleen? HSA often mets to these sites. I am not sure why they would not recommend chemo. In the past doxorubricin has been used as well as metronomic chemo with an NSAID and Cytoxan or Leukeran. I would ask them why they are not suggesting it...maybe it has gone out of favor.
