I just need to add a quick observation about this thread...this is exactly why I love this site. A question of concern to a new tripawd pawrent is quickly addressed with the valuable experience of our knowledgeable members and Dr. Pam. We breathe a sigh of relief and then Pow! comes the wicked humor of the Monkeybutt Faction! Gotta love their perspective and the wicked humor

Way cool! Great to hear, thanks for letting us know. I'm sure someone else will encounter this situation at some point so it's good to know that this kind of thing can clear up.
Hugs to you and Piper! Hope you have a great week ahead.

YAY for shrinkage! Keep getting better Mr. Piper!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! Take THAT Monkeybutt!!! 😉
On another side note....Piper has forgotten he only has 3 legs. Im not joking when I say he literally hiked his only remaining back leg to go potty today. Not once...but twice. The dog is a magician. I dont know how he managed that! 😉
He's doing so amazingly well! And we're enjoying getting our dog back!
Oh, Monkeybutt - you are so funny.
And Mr. Nip Flappy - only the monkeybutts will miss you!
As for Piper - well, now that might be the next photo we need to see - him peeing balanced on two legs!
So happy you are seeing your spunky boy back!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
