Wow that's a new one.
I googled it but couldn't come up with anything (by the way, don't google "Double P ll" or your jaw will drop like mine did!) I googled "Double P ii" and got some scientific stuff but no relevant results. Is this a brand name or the scientific one? Who makes it? Any other info from the bottle or prescription you can pass along here would be helpful

This is a Chinese herb produced by Jin-Tang Herbal. This is the company that I order my dog Kona's herbs from since they are guaranteed to be pure.
I would be careful with the Double P II. It is prescribed for the acute, painful phase of intervertebral disc disease and my guide says "Extremely toxic. Use only for a short time at a low dosage." A better herb for Fortis might be Ba Ji San which is for rear weakness or a sore or weak back and has no contraindications and can be given long-term.
If an experienced holistic vet/herbalist prescribes the Double P II then by all means use it but it is only for short-term use. Is he also getting acupuncture?
Pam
Thanks for the reply. Yes Fortis had his first chiropractic and acupuncture treatment for his ampuversary. The vet prescribed 1.5 teaspoons twice daily with food of the Double P ll compound. (sorry about the google search). I was worried about the toxicity. Thanks for the info Pam. Fortis will have another treatment next week and I will ask her more about the Double P ll as well as the Ba Ji San that you have mentioned. In the mean time I will stop with the P ll. I didn't like the way Fortis acted when I gave it to him.
He absolutely loved the treatment though. What a blast he seemed to have. Not sure if it will help with the knee problem but it's worth every penny just to see him having such a fun time.

My female standard (10 yr old) had a spinal cord stroke 4 weeks. She's been on Double P 11 for three weeks. She regained aobut 90% of her movement in the affected rear leg. My vet suggests staying on it for two more weeks but I question uusing it that long. She seems a little off but of course she had the stroke and can't play yet like she did. She's 55 lbs and on 6 (5mg.) pills a day. She did get acupuncture and treadmill wlaking under water for the first two weeks.
any suggestions???
Thaks,
Hal
Thanks for asking Hal. We're not vets and have never used Double P 11, so hopefully Dr. Pam, or others with experience can provide better advice. Please consider registerring to take full advantage of these forums including automatic post approval, subscribing to reply notifications, and much more.

Hi:
My name is Frances, I came to this site trying to find a little bit of information about the Double P 2.
My vet prescribe this herb to my daschund. She try to jump on the couch and hurt her back and now she is paralyze.
We have started her on the chiropractic and acupuncture treatment and the vet has order this herb for her.
SHe is only 14 pounds and I want to make sure is OK for her.
She has done really good she is using the bathroom on her own (hates diapers) eating well and has beginning to try to walk. She has more strength in one leg than other but I have heard that this herb can really help in combination with her treatment.
I was have been very happy and impress with the knowledge the vet has. I have never used her before but after doing some research and looking for options to better help our Luna. I decided to give her a chance.
Luna will have a second treatment next week and I am hoping that it works.
Any additional advice will be greatly appreciated!!!
Frances
Frances I'm sorry to hear about Luna and hope she feels better soon.
According to our regular veterinarian friend Dr. Wiltzius, she answered this question earlier in this topic. Here is what she said.
