I brought Munchkin home and hit went right for his kibbles. I did not put much in his bowl, but am wondering about feeding him so he won't get sick, etc.

Great question!

K, I'm not a vet but IMHO....loss of appetite is normal for a few days at least. Dogs aren't like humans when they are recuperating, they don't go for food because they instinctively know that their body needs to reserve its energy for healing purposes. As long as he's drinking water and eliminating for the first day or so, that's a good sign. You can always tempt him with good eats like super tasty treats he loves to perk up his taste buds, just don't overdo it or his stomach will go blammo.

Tazziedog, what do you think?

The main thing is not to let him overeat and then vomit.  I usually do multiple small meals for a few days after surgery and then go back to the normal schedule.  If he is picky then chicken and rice is a tempting but bland option.
