Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
So I don't really have any more information this afternoon than I had before our vet visit... Rio's cough has definitely become more prevalent over the past few weeks, and the vet said she could hear a lot more noise in there than the last time she listened. Rio also threw up three times yesterday, but has kept both her dinner last night and breakfast today down (so far). I had them go ahead and run a basic chem panel to see if we're looking at the early stages of organ shut down or if it's something else.
Based on the results from the ACTH stimulation test, we may go ahead and take her off the Trilostane to see if the additional cortisol in her system would act as a natural prednisone and help with the inflammation in her lungs. The other option is to maybe start her on a super low dose of pred to see if that helps any. But until we get the test results back, we are basically in a holding pattern. Ugh, I hate waiting.....

In the immortal words of Tom Petty, "the waiting is the hardest part."
I hate waiting, so I hear you. I hope the results are good and that they figure out something to make her feel better!
Hang in there! Hugs and kisses to The Woo (and to Zeffy and Tosca too...but extra ones for The Woo!)
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Dang Micki- I was hoping you would at least get some answers... I've been thinking about you guys all day.
When do you get the blood work back?
I hope the Woo is keeping the food where it belongs this afternoon. Hang in there Micki- we are here to help however we can.
Karen and the pugapalooza
KaCee, No sneezing, runny nose or any other allergy-type symptoms... Plus, she's on benedryl 3x daily as a preventative in case her tumor "degranulates," so allergy symptoms should be covered.
The food has stayed down all day today! That makes me feel a little better. I guess I'll just try to be patient until we get the numbers back on the tests from earlier...
Thanks everybody for your support! Makes me feel like I'm not going through this alone, and that makes all the difference!!!
