Has the oncologist answered these questions yet? I wasn't sure if the answers were going to be posted here or in a blog. Thanks.

We are finally finalizing the movies and videos we made with Dr. Rosenberg and plan on having them up shortly. Regarding the questions that everyone asked, we narrowed them down for the limited time we had with Dr. Rosenberg. Unfortunately, some questions we didn't have time to discuss and some she didn't have answers to. Of the questions that we presented to her, here are the ones we discussed off-camera:

Why isn't the public allowed access to research papers funded by the
NIH, Morris Animal Foundation,  the AKC Canine Health Foundation etc?

Dr. Rosenberg said that because she isn't a part of these organizations she didn't have an answer and recommends that we contact them directly. If we find the time to do this we will, otherwise if anyone wants to tackle this project, we'd love it! We'll publish your findings in the Tripawds News Blog too.

Wouldn't it make sense to have more thorough scans done at the start
when figuring out what sort of treatment plan (e.g., amputation,
radiation, chemo)?

It's not that oncologists won't or don't to this service, it's a matter of having the technology available at their location. At Dr. Rosenberg's cliinics, they have two locations that can perform these services, and staffed board-certified technicians that can interpret the results. Most places aren't so fortunate. Also, Dr. Rosenberg's group does indeed recommend performing more thorough scans, however it's up to the dog parents' willingness and ability to pay for more tests. Many do not take them up on this suggestion.

I'm really concerned about the study that removing the primary cancer
site makes the cancer metastasize faster.  If that is so (and I hope I
misunderstood) then aren't we in a no-win situation?

See this current Tripawds News Post, Does Amputation Speed Cancer Metastasis.

Most of the other questions are answered in our upcoming video and blog segments with Dr. Rosenberg. Stay tuned!
