Elizabeth, that is hilarious.  You must be an awesome person!  😀  lol

Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury.  Her amp was on 10/1/12.  She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera.  We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Ok, this is the perfect topic to perk our spirits up around here :) I started thinking of names the second I saw Mav's puppy photo from the breeder when she starting trying to convince me to take him (hard sell there, lol). I came up with a whole list of cowboy names since her kennel name is Dodge City Aussies. I'm not sure when Maverick really became his name but I got his tag made with that name before I went to "look" at him. It very quickly became evident that Maverick was perfect, the renegade, the trouble maker. My wild and crazy boy is aptly named and I've never considered changing it :)

BTW, I'm going to post tomorrow night a new blog post for Mav so check it then. It's Mav's first birthday tomorrow!!! Celebratory cake photos will be posted if I can get him to sit still for it, lol :)

Maverick is a wonderful miniature australian shepard born with a malformation of the front right radius/ulna, amputation performed on 11/4/13 at 6 months old. Follow his story at mavericksjourney.tripawds.com.

My uncle Paul was an actor and lived in LA, in fact you could see the HOLLYWOOD sign from their house. Anyway, he also breed and showed Pugs, mostly black ones. He named all his pugs after Shakespearean characters, the pug girl's mom was Cordelia, their grandpa was Malvolio...etc. When I decided to get my first pug girl from Paul I wanted to name her after some Shake's character and I searched through my Mom's books to find a name I liked. I settled on Margaret partly because it is my Mom's name and partly because I really liked the name Molly. My uncle had sent me pictures of the puppies, including the girl they were saving for me, and the name seemed to fit. After 10 weeks of waiting we finally went down to LA to pick up 'Molly'. My uncle had decided to keep the girl in the pictures, and gave me the other girl. The minute I held her I knew her name was Maggie. She had lots of nicknames including Maggie-Mae and Magster, but I almost always called her Spud, because she just was a Spud!
A couple years later I decided to get another girl from my uncle. He gave me Titania, a 10 month old pug he was going to keep but then decided to place, and the Pug Girls came to be. We shortened Titania to Tani (like Tawny) because yelling 'Titania NO' was too many syllables. Nicknames included Tani-Fae and Tonster. Sometimes I called them The Spuds.
After Maggie passed I wanted another pug to keep Tani company, and my uncle had passed away so I didn't feel obligated to get a pug from him. I didn't want a puppy, and I had started a relationship with the local pug rescue group so that's where I went. I adopted a 4 year old black boy named Diego. He had a really crappy start and I wanted a new name for his new life. My Mom decided that I had to name him Oberon, Obie for short. So the current pug pack is Oberon and Titania, the King and Queen of the Faries from A Midsummer's Night Dream.

Tri-pug Maggie survived a 4.5 year mast cell cancer battle only to be lost to oral melanoma.

MISSION accomplished! You all brought BIG smiles to my face and I hope, in turn, fun for all of you! What a delightful thread to read last night after a 14 hour work day!!! 🙂

There is so much love on this site and it warms my heart and fills me with such joy. I absolutely ADORE being surrounded (albeit cyber-like) with people who love their fur-babies as much as I do. This is where I am supposed to be!

Thank you for sharing from 3-leggeds, to 4-leggeds to those yet to come ... I know my heart/home will open up to another dog at some point! superstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstarsuperstar

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Yes, thank you Alison. Great idea!! I thought I would add some more. We have a barn. When you have a barn, people seem to think it is ok to drop cats off at your barn. IWhen people drop off cats at your barn, they turn into more cats. I have had quite a time trying to keep the strays from multiplying. I missed a female on the last spay run. So we have new kittens again. There are feral cats that come from the farms around us. All I can do is try to get all my barn cats fixed. We have a family that keeps their horses at our barn, they named the last kittens after the royal family. We even had a Pipa and. Kate. They are actually living like princesses at their new home. Also go on RV trips with their family. Charles went home with the family at the barn. Then there is the random one they named Clyde.???? Don't know anyone from the royal family named Clyde. LOL they named the new litter and have their names written down. We have had pretty good luck finding homes for kittens. Don't know if the new owners change their names or not.

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
