I just revived this topic on my blog (here) the other day, including a list of some of the "highlights" from people's posts. Then my sister found a relevant (and timely) article about a man whose dog ate his tickets to the Masters golf tournament! A little hydrogen peroxide, and presto! He was able to piece enough of the tix together to convince the Masters' ticket office to issue him some, um, slightly fresher tickets! Here is the whole article on ESPN.
Too funny.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. When I was a child, I had a pet Cocker Spaniel (Honey Lee). One Saturday morning, while I was nearby watching cartoons, she got onto the kitchen counter and ate an entire pound of butter.
Shortly after my mom woke up (Sat was her sleep-in day and my cartoon marathon time), the dog went behind the sofa and was massively sick (from both ends). Mom wrapped Honey in a beach towel and carried her outside, wondering what in the world was wrong with the dog.
When she came back in to clean up the mess, she noticed the licked-clean butter dish and figured out the problem.
It was days before the dog was well enough to come back in the house.
And even more days before I was allowed to watch television!
I just heard about that dog eating the Masters Tickets!

Did everyone have a childhood dog named "Honey"??? I did too!
I'll be so happy when these baby hummingbirds are out of my back yard....I do not want to be writing about Rocket eating one! Not that I think he would eat it but he would try to help me put it back in the nest. He's already done that before by bringing one in the house to give it to me to put in the nest. Sadly his mouth with terrier canine teeth isn't meant to carry baby birds.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
