We can probably all relate to this - life and times of a dog! (and probably kitty too)

I saw this months ago on a friend's facebook page when her dog passed. I found it again today since it really resonates with me. Shelby is doing really well but as I have said, I do long for the days of the past and I struggle with being in the present.

Shelby was a challenging dog from the day I brought her home from the shelter. God knows what her life was like before me but she was mischievous, ate things that didn't belong to her (like shoes, curtains, countless containers of chocolate or red vines). They say cats have 9 lives - well Shelby must be part cat! On three different occasions, she consumed chocolate or red vines and twice had to have her stomach pumped. Once I caught her eating out chicken bones out of the trash. I literally had to put everything on TOP of my fridge since she could jump to the counters. She was just a bad, bad little dog but I love her so that I seem to have forgotten all that.

So this is true for Shelby (and many others). May all the furbabies on this site be loved, cherished and spoiled like my girl is!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Very, very sweet!

And on top of everything else, Shelby had to have her stomach pumped twice???

Shelby, you are ndeed part cat and, thankfully, seemed to be blessed with nine lives!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
