So after another long day at work followed by a very slow commute home due to snow, I walk in the door to find this…
Apparently I forgot to tie up and put out the trash this morning in my rush to work. Good to know that Tasha can still make a mess and get into things she shouldn't…even with only one front leg. Some things never change!
Tasha was a German ShepherdBorder Collie mix who was diagnosed with OSA at age 8. On December 29, 2011 she had her front right leg amputated and received 4 rounds of chemo. Sadly and suddenly Tasha became sick and we discovered she had liver cancer that had spread to her lung. After almost 19 months, Tasha earned her wings on July 17, 2013. No regrets and never forgotten.
oh yeah, Spencer was getting into things he wasn't supposed to right up until the end! Just last week he grabbed a chicken sandwich off of the table.
Jac and Angel Spencer. Spencer was 5.25 years old. He fought a grade 3 fibrosarcoma, started on his shoulder. Left front leg amputated in August 2011. 15 weeks of chemo finished 12/22/11 (mytox and adria). Lung mets found on x-rays 12/28/11. Started carboplatin 1/6/12. Went to Heaven on 2/27/12. I miss him like crazy every day. See his blog here: http://spencer.tripawds.com/
Had the same thing happen to us - I had been telling my husband that at least my vege garden would be safe from Kayla digging it up after she lost her front leg then 5 days after the amp the little madam went and dug a darn hole right in the middle of the vege garden
We were so excited that with only 3 legs she could still dig holes although it was pretty funny to watch. So good to know that losing a leg doesnt mean they lose any bad habits and can still do everything a 4 legged dog can.

Hee hee. I do think we humans are the only ones that think 3 legs are different from 4 legs.

Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
For some reason it seemed wrong to yell at her for getting into the trash. But I am starting to think she is taking advantage of this "I only have three legs" thing!

No question, I will tell you from experience: she is DEFINITELY taking advantage of the "I only have 3 legs thing". If you want, you can send her to Ajax for some lessons on how to take advantage of not only mom and dad, but random strangers on the street. Tripawds are extra smart, I bet everyone here would agree ...
