Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know that yesterday we celebrated Miss MBBunny Rita's 1st Birthday! (Actually, we are celebrating it all weekend long, and she doesn't know it yet, but there's a Flying Dutchman in her immediate future!) Hooray for Rita.
Also, many of you know I released an e-book version of my first novel in March (which I pitch shamelessly in my sig!). Well, I've now decided to pursue releasing a print version, which means I now need a back cover for the book! I had some author photos taken, and would love your input on which one you think is best.
You can check them out here on my blog, and I'd love it if you leave a comment here or on the blog.
Thanks everyone for all your support!
Jackie, Angel Abby & Super-special Birthday Girl, MBBunny Rita!
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
If it's my birthday weekend, why is most of that post about you?
Get off the computer and come play with me and my new stuffed eel!
Signed,
Disgruntled MBBunny Rita
I am a Monkeybutt Bunny. I used to live on the beach in Mexico. Now I have it good. Well, mostly good anyway. My mama tells me about my angel big sister, Abby, all the time. Apparently she was like a big deal or something....
Rita - it's not really mostly about me - because you are in a bunch of the pictures. You might be on a book!
But, you're right... I'm logging off now!

I think I like Me and Rita #3...
Levi was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 7-7-11
Ampuversary 10-14-11
Lung Mets Discovered 1-4-12. Chemo seemed to not be working so we switched to Artemisinin and other supplements. In May, Levi developed a sinus infection and started having seizures. The cancer had moved to his brain. We let him go 6-26-12.
I also vote for Me and Rita #3.
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
Me Alone #3 is great, but I vote for Me and Rita #3
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Me alone option 1 and me and Rita #3--great pictures!!
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
Hoppy Birthday Rita!!!! You're still such a sweet pup! I hope you got all of the Flying Dutchman burgers your heart desires!
Fabulous pics, congrats on the release in print! I vote for "Me & Rita #3" too.

Thanks guys. Looks like Me & Rita #3 is in the lead.
Rita very much enjoyed her Flying Dutchman dinner, but she didn't get to eat as many as her heart desired... I wonder what that number would be?? Yikes!
