Sadly - I did NOT win the Lotto Max. I DID win $10 and a freeplay (which cost me $1) ! Darn, darn, darn !!
We certainly have some eager Internet P.I.s in the crowd, Fortis' dad, better 'fess up now before they dig up the really "good" dirt on you ...

Isn't Longview right next door? I know some Mathews there.
Yep, and so is Kilgore and the "Kilgore Rangerettes". The great piney woods of East Texas…..
Sorry you didn't win the lotto. I was really pulling for you. Dig up....I've been an angle my whole life what could there possibly be to dig up.
Creeping around 50? Ha. I'm spiralling out of control towards 55 in just over two weeks and I'm totally bummed out that I'll qualify for some "senior" discounts then (except at the vet's, I'm sure). Bah.
When Maggie was doing chemo, well over 3 years ago now, she was between 7 and 8, I was about 46, and my dad was about 73. I started turning grey in my 20's, taking after my dad, so people sometimes think I'm older. Its OK though, when they get to know me they find out how immature I really am .
But I digress- when Mag was doing chemo my dad was paying for some of the visits so they had both of our credit cards on file.
One day I was looking at the receipts and noticed we were getting a 'Senior Discount'. I have no idea to this day if it was for Maggie, me, or my dad.
I didn't want to ask because I was afraid they would say it was for me .
Karen
Karen - love the senior discount story. I'm like you, I would never have asked, but would have definitely decided it was for dad!
Brett - the old navy base is still there - the old Riverside housing has been demolished and they opened a park where it had been. The base has been inactive for years now, and I think now only hosts a mothball fleet. I know there are still ships there, as we had a friend who up until he retired a couple years ago, did inspections there periodically.

Tana,
Let er ride, baby - let er ride!
Yeah, Fortis' dad - I'm a very good googler! I'll find something!
Karen - I've been coloring my hair auburn so long because I have black hair which I hate. So, I'm never gonna be grey in my mind!
Tana, you are lucky with a child - it has benefits! I may have to adopt a child just so they'll come visit me in the nursing home to make sure they pluck my upper lip and chin hairs and also fix my wig! (I'll be wearing a wig, I'm sure.)

Comet - OMD - you crack me up.
You bet I'm letting it ride - seriously - what else can you do with $10 ?? Buy a coffee? well, yes, I did buy a coffee - but I'm throwing the other $4 back into the Lotto !! Somebody's got to win, right?? It might as well be me !!
And yeah ... lucky with a child because he's going to come and pluck my upper lip and fix my wig!! BWAAAAHHAAA !!! I can't even get him pick up his own dirty clothes on a regular basis ! No - I think it would be much safer to just win the Lotto - hire a personal esthetician - and have my upper lip and chin professionally plucked - and, in fact, have my "face done" and my "wig straightened" every morning by someone who knows what the heck they're doing ! I can't even imagine what I'd look like if I left that to my son ... "Honey - would you please fix up my wig for me...." AAAAHHHH .... I'd look like one of those crazy old people they make shows about on the Public Broadcast Service !!
Absolutely - get a wig - but make sure it's a really good one !! always keep your upper lip (and your chin !!) hairs plucked - and make sure that your teeth stay in your mouth (unless they are being cleaned elsewhere... in which case .. DON'T be seen in public !!)
Anything else you want to know about aging gracefully ... feel free to ask ...

It sounds like I need to adopt a girl! At least she can put some lipstick on me correctly for Bingo night!
Okay, this is creepy but I remember my mom and aunt doing my grandmother's makeup and hair for her funeral (years ago) !! I remember my mom saying the hardest part was arching her eyebrows because it didn't feel normal. (DUH!)
