Awww look at Kona!  Paws crossed that she does make it to 12!

Can we have triple birthdays for our 12 year olds?

Okay MR. Fortis' Dad - I want pictures and pronto!

It's funny  - because I thought for the longest time I was one of the oldest on the forum (except for Shanna! I knew she was old! winker) .  I gotta admit - I like being one of the younger ones!  big-grin

A birthday for the 12 year olds sounds like a fun thing to do!  I love the senior dogs, they are so beautiful - so regal.  Pam, I was really beginning to freak out because Trouble was having so many off days moving around - just seemed so stiff and sore.  It was almost a relief to find she was older, at least it explained the mobility issues.

And Comet dog, it isn't so unusual so many of us are all creeping around 50 - God knows we are the ones who can afford and survive the monetary challenge of a cancer dog.  Can you imagine trying to do this and have small kiddos too? I've always said I was 'chosen' to care for this girl.

It's really funny, Rene encouraged me to contact Diane because she thought we had so much in common.  I thought I had found the only other 'older' member - except Bob (who has been extremely quiet on the subject) who I knew was retired.  All of a sudden we have a club going for all the older ones and it seems to grow almost daily!

And Brett, boxing in Orange - wow that must have been some time back.  I'm thinking late 60's/early 70's is the last I remember knowing of any boxers in this area.  Yes, we must have a picture!

Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul.  Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Creeping around 50? Ha. I'm spiralling out of control towards 55 in just over two weeks and I'm totally bummed out that I'll qualify for some "senior" discounts then (except at the vet's, I'm sure). Bah.

Bless your heart, honey, I feel for you!  Trouble and I are making the journey with a husband who is not in great health, but I don't have to worry about how to pay for it (thank Dog for small miracles). I am SO praying you hit the Lotto Max.  You deserve it!

Thank you for pointing that out Shanna wink. As if my "Watergate" word problem wasn't an easy enough clue. Actually It was 1980 I think. The fight was in Orange, Texas but I was living and going to school in Nacogdoches at the time.

Whoa whoa......I said I had my last fight (armature) in Orange, Texas. It's a fact as well that I did a bit of dancing back in those days but I can assure you I'm no dancer nor was I really a boxer!!  I lost by a split decision (I think I won the fight big-grin). It was my first, last and only loss. I fought a good fight against a much more experienced fighter. The loss was nothing to be ashamed of. But as this Irish boy puked ugh his guts up in the dressing room due to a concussion caused by a nasty head butt the lights came on. College life was a lot less painful. Why not just focus on parties, Frisbee, girls and oh due some studying as well.

You guys are nuts. Pictures. Of what? A weathered old man. I'll due you all a favor and stick with pictures of Fortis. He much easier on the eyes. Plus Jim has the corner on the photos.

Oh, I'm pulling for Sophie and family to win the big Lotto Max!

Nacogdoches

Here's something eerie...I reconnected with an old friend on Facebook the other day.  He mentions another friend of ours from the past had died that I wasn't aware of.  The friend was from Nacagdoches.

Two days in a row, Nacagdoches, TX has come into my mind!  Eerie.

We want pictures of the boxer guy - not the old guy!winker   I don't recall boxing in Orange when I was in high school, my wimpy/geeky friends must not have wanted to get smacked in the head. oh-my  I do remember in jr high, one of the high schoolers was a boxer.

I mean really, nearly an 8 minute mile? And to think I was proud to run a 10K in under an hour (59:24)! Now the age is known. Never underestimate the power of the Googlemeister. cool

Shanna, If my memory serves me correctly we fought at an old Naval facility.
