Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. I think we are going to have to make Jill and honorary doggie. I love reading about Jill and how she is coming along. Jill looks so cute in her bandanna. It's almost as big as she is. Its good to see that she is getting along so well.

I love her and her new dress Jill is stylin.

You could make it into a onesie!
She looks very adorable in it. How much did you have to pay her to keep it on?

She got a night off from her fish oil for letting me do this to her

Ah yes, I should have guessed. Miss Jill, the cat who hates fish oil. Although I strongly suspect it's an act because you want her to take it. If you tried to get her to take something else, she'd protest that. And I would really love to see you make a onesie out of the bandanna. That would rock!
How was Belle this morning, by the way?

Belle seemed to be feeling much better (but not great) around when we stopped chatting last night. She really wanted her gookie (what we call her steer chew), which she was not interested in at all before and she was even wagging her tail when she jumped up on the bed to come to sleep and saw Jill. And the shaking/tremoring was completely gone.
She seemed much better this morning too, drinking lots of water, but still sleepy.
I called her vet this morning and he told me two things:
Cernia, which he gave her on Sunday can make dogs feel really out of it for up to 72 hours
Stop the flagyl, some dogs have bad reactions to it, and her being so little if she reacts bad to it, she'd be extra sensitive. So I am to give her pepto tonight if she is still having diarhea. And no doggy food only chicken and rice. Which is a problem, because I don't know how to cook. So. I'm ordering dinner in tonight on Grandmaw and Grandpaw

How to cook doggie chicken and rice for a teacup poodle:
1. Buy (you do that at a place called a Grocery Store; google map it) a pack of skinless chicken parts (a couple of breasts or thighs)
2. Buy (see above) a small package of rice (brown is better but has fiber so maybe white for less poop).
3. Borrow a pot from a neighbor. Put the chicken into it, along with 2 cups of water and one cup of rice.
4. Bring to a boil (know what that is, right?) and cover the pot. Turn down the temp and simmer for about 30 minutes if it's white rice and 45 minutes if it's brown.
5. Have a food squishing device? Immersion blender, regular blender, food processor? If so, squish it all up. If not, take the chicken out of the pot and when you can handle it, tear it into little pieces.
6. Put some into Belle's bowl. She knows what to do next.
(Takeout will have lots of salt in it. If you really have to do takeout, ask them for a low-sodium option.)

This sounds complicated. They need to make lean cuisines for dogs.

LOL! Excellent description and instructions.
ps: Given your sense of humor, I'd go with the terrier rather than the GP!

I am just a mutt.
Yes, Lean Cuisine for dogs would be helpful. But if you have a boutique-y pet store around, they'll have the equivalent there frozen. You can tell them what you need and it'll be there. Where you are, I'd be very surprised if you can't find 3 choices in 5 blocks. That way you can still get your takeout but it can be whatever you want and not what Belle needs!
I just made Evelyn's "boatload o'food" yesterday, so I really know my chicken parts and boiling! Although this was extra nasty. Chicken quarters, beef liver, mackerel, amaranth, quinoa, veggies and an immersion blender. I gagged the whole time. She has rewarded me with pooping 3 times in 18 hours.
Good luck!
Shari
