I don't know if any of you watch House hunters International on HGTV. Last night I turned it on and there was a couple who were moving from New York to Shanghai. While they were doing their intro, the guy was throwing a ball for their dog. I looked up as the dog was chasing the ball and thought, "That dog runs like a Tripawd." Sure enough, when he brought the ball back, I could see that he was a rear tri. They didn't refer to the dog at all during the part of the program where they were looking at apartments, and I kept wondering what had happened to the dog. Did it have to stay with Grandma? At the very end they showed the couple at home in their new apartment, and there was the dog up on the couch with them. Quite a world traveler.
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Kathi,
I missed that one, I usually watch House Hunters every night......There was also a Tripawd on not too long ago on Treehouse Masters on Animal Planet. This episode was in Los Angeles and the owners of the Tripawd said that, yeah, she/he (can't remember which one) gets around just as well as the other dogs they had, when the Treehouse guy Dave Nelson noticed the pup only had 3 legs. I just thought it was so cool, then wondered if the owners were members here.
I guess since all of us here are so in tune to this, we are the first to notice 3 legged fur kids!
Maybe I will look on our cable channel's Demand programing and look for this episode......thanks for sharing this!

That's so awesome!!! I love to see Tripawds getting some press. I mentioned that yesterday when I was interview day cares for Jasper, there was a Tripawd playing there. Front amp, I think. I think that was a sign from Shelby to pick that daycare for her little sis!
I STILL (subconsciously) count legs on dogs when I see them... 🙂

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
That is so cool! I wonder if the new place in Shanghai had been Tripawd-proofed first?
We don't have a TV so we never get to see these things, thanks for letting us know.
Allison I totally thought it was a SIGN that you needed to go to that daycare place, i mean how could it not be?!
