Our family is all ok, thank God. But it's way too close for comfort, not as close as Corn, but still too close. The towns all around us were destroyed; henryville, marysville, Chelsea, pekin. It's horrible. I've seen these things on the news but never witnessed them first hand. The tornadoes that hit were huge! The kind of things that you see in Oklahoma or Kansas, not Indiana. We've had several people killed/missing here in southern Indiana, some just across town from us. It's crazy. Please send up a prayer for everyone hit this week.
Oh scary! Scary! Scary!
Cornhound, it's good to hear you're OK, and the same for everyone else affected by the crazy storms.
I'll tell ya, we looked all over the country for that "perfect" place without bad weather or scary natural disasters, and couldn't find one. If anyone knows of any, by all means do tell!

Just checking in with our Midwest Tripawd friends.
We are so sad to hear about the devastation from those tornadoes.
Please let us know that you're all OK when you get a chance. We are thinking of you.

We are also ok here in Central OK; western OK (Woodward area) took the brunt of this particular storm system. The forecasters had been predicting "deadly" storms for days, and on Saturday we were on high alert-- however, after staying up late watching the weather coverage, by the time the storms rolled through around 4:00 AM, I was so tired, I slept right through them!
Catherine and Spirit Scout
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
If it makes you feel any better Scout - I stayed up too! My mom is Wichita Falls TX and my girlfriend is in Moore. (she was okay from Friday's tornado).
Glad to hear everyone is okay!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
cometdog-- glad to hear I'm not the only one who stayed up late worrying (they did forecast Armageddon...)-- you were an Okie once right?, so you know how it goes 😉

Oh whew! Thank you for letting us know. SOoooooo glad you're safe.
It's amazing how small the world seems now. Used to be that I'd watch a news story about natural disasters and they seemed so far away. Now that we have Tripawders all over, I worry about our community members when stuff like this happens.
Paws crossed for no more tornadoes.
