In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I just want to express my thanks for Tripawds and for the friends that I have made here. Jim/Rene I'm not sure what your vision was when you started this, but God bless you both and Jerry Dawg (long may he run) for creating this place. There are no people like dog people and while no one really 'wanted' to end up here, having this place to ask questions, get advice and to lean on others who understand what your going through is truly a blessing.

To my Tripawds friends, while I know that loss and sadness is what brought most of us together, I'm thankful that in those times we did not have to be alone. You guys make me laugh almost daily and for that I am truly grateful.

Gotta run..... Tanner is dragging a 3ft tall Winnie-the-Pooh around the house. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!

Here-here, and amen........very nicely written sentiments are almost exactly as yours are. You and so many others have been there for me when I needed it most, I only hope I can do the same for everyone here as well..... And picturing Tanner running through your house while dragging a very large Winnie-the-Pooh has made my evening !!!

While being a bit sadder this year for many of us, hoping you and everyone here has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Much Love,

Bonnie & Angel Polly

Thanks for making me smile.  The thought of Tanner running through your home with a giant Winnie the Pooh is priceless.

Like everyone else I'm thankful for this wonderful community full of great people!!  It has really helped me with healing after letting Leland go over the summer.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Beautifully said Elizabeth! Cheers to you and everyone and our Tripawd heroes!

We have to give Jerry all the credit for this community. In 2006 Tripawds was originally simply meant to be a blog about his journey, and when we started it we had no idea that it would touch so many people. He showed us how to Be More Dog despite being faced with something as shocking as losing a leg, he showed us that we should let nothing get in the way of enjoying every moment as long as we're here, alive on this beautiful planet. And later, as more people and their pets joined this community, they helped reinforced that attitude each and every day! Yay!

Thanksgiving is an especially memorable time for us, since Jerry was released from his amputation surgery on Thanksgiving Day. We spent the entire weekend being more grateful than ever, that we said yes to surgery and were still together. Here is the post that Jerry wrote on Thanksgiving Day 2006.

We had no idea what the future held. What an awesome one it has become thanks to him and all of you!

Hoppy Thanksgivng Everyone!

I too am thankful for Jerry, Sally, and all the kind people and their fur babies whose support helped my family through such a challenging time last year. Next week is Daisy's 18 month ampuversary, (and she'll turn 13) and we feel so fortunate to have had this year and a half with her.  I'm grateful that this group is here to help pets and their families, no matter where they are on their journey.  You really are amazing!!  Thank you!

I'm a few days late ... BUT I am so incredibly thankful for this entire community who laughed with me, cried with me and lifted me up in the darkest days and continue to remind me to "Be More Dog " ... I love you all more than words can ever express... and I was delighted to learn about the 501(c) 3 status over my vacation! I will bust my fundraising booty to make this a nation-wide name and in the spirit of Shelby ... and others ... never ever forget!

Much love,

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
