A new family just moved in next door, and today for the first time Meg and I met the 15 year old son, who was standing on the doorstep, having locked himself out. His face lit up on seeing Meg. 'Wow!' he said. 'She's a SURVIVOR!'

I loved him immediately (obviously), and invited him in for a cup of tea, instead of standing outside in the drizzle, but it was just such a lovely, instinctive response, it touched me and I wanted to share it.

I'd love to hear what positive responses you've had when out with your Tripawd.

Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, November 2023, adopted January 2024.

Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Elsie Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...

Well, I don't get out much with Mona my cat but the funniest was when Mona was on my driveway and ran off when a car drove up. The driver asked if that black ball rolling away was a cat. I said yes that's my tripawd Mona and the driver said "Oh my gosh, I don't even like cats but I love her!"

The other was her chiropractor who, after one session, asked if I would trade Mona for their newly adopted over-weight clinic cat. She said Mona would be a perfect fit for their clinic and home. Needless to say  - it didn't happen.

I think tripawds are easy to admire. I know my face and heart lights up when I see photos and videos of the Megstar.

Ooooh I love this topic! Focusing on the positive things people say feels so much more productive and giving our energy to negative comments.

Your new neighbors are gonna be great! If the son is so open-minded it speaks volumes about how he was raised. Yay!

When new people see Wyatt they often say "Wow! I couldn't even tell he was missing a leg!" We figure it's his BIG personality that gets their attention first icon_lol

I would say the best compliant we get is when people say nothing. They say what a beautiful dog Brownie is. When I tell them he is almost 13 they can't believe it.  They never say anything about him being a Tripawd.

My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019.  With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer.  I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud!  He will live forever in my Heart!

Agree! To see that 3-legged dogs aren't abnormal in any negative way is such a compliment!
