I'm sure that there are many things that our Tripawds do that would have us mad at them if they were quads.  So many things that we thought they would never do again.  Some of those things, we HOPED they would never do again.

Here is Murphy, proof that rear tri's can dig.  There used to be periwinkle in that bed.

And an attack on the hose.  Last summer he ruined three of them.  This summer, we don't care.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Ha!

Sam surprised me early on by still being able to dig (he is a front amp). You are much more tolerant than I :D Sam got the same talking to he always did when he created craters in the landscaping :p

But you are right...there are so many things that most folks would not think a tripawd could do that they are more than easily capable of :)

Hahaha! Tripawds can dig up plants, eat hoses, whatever, and their pawrents go "oooooohhhh!" You just can't help but smile, even though you know it's not something you'd let a quadpawd get away with!

He looks so adorable sitting in that freshly plowed flower bed, but the hose video is even better! What a spunky kid.

Kathi, when Dakota was a new amputee, I told the story about what a PITA he was in the kitchen doorway. He would lay across it and then swat at my feet as I stepped over him. I cannot count how many times I almost fell on my can, loaded down with food or dishes, when he would swat at me. I hated him doing that.

After a month or so, Dakota plopped down in the kitchen doorway and swatted my feet as I stepped over him. He only had one front leg, and he used it well. I was so happy I almost sat down by him and cried. My husband was absolutely perplexed. He reminded me of the bad words I used to say when D would do that. But it changed! He was being normal! He could still be a PITA! Oh happy day!  big-grin

Shari

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/

We aren't at a year yet, although sometimes it seems longer.  Murphy's amp was November 24 and the THR was February 5.  Getting close!

I love Murphy videos!  He is so young, strong and handsome!  I know Atlas is having a good day when he digs his little nest while turning a circle in his bed.  Now that's core strength!

OK.  One last video and then we will be away for a couple of weeks.  I'll have the iPad, but no capability of posting pictures or videos.  I will, however, be taking them.

This one was taken while we were at the coast on vacation.  Murphy was quite interested in the kites, so his Dad kindly showed him how to fly them.

Murph flies kites! and at the beach.  What a cool dog!

And- if I've never said before, I love red collars on black dogs.  Maggie's color was red (Tani is blue).  After I lost Mag I was thinking my next pug would have a different color, but when I adopted Obie he came with a red leash and harness so I stayed with it.
