I've been thinking about some of the best lessons that I've learned from my wise and learned Rio over the years, and I wanted to share. Feel free to add your own.
1. Live in the moment.
2. You can always find something to be happy about.
3. Get outside and play!
4. If you need help, ask for it.
5. Naps rock!
6. Keep it simple, stupid. (Why make things more complicated than they really are?)
7. Don't worry, be happy.
8. It's always about the cookies!
9. Get over it! (Staying mad or holding a grudge doesn't do anybody any good.)
10. Feeling guilty is way over-rated!

11. Having a Monkeybutt dog around to rub their nose in all the extra treats/attention you get as a Tripawd is priceless.
12. Just hanging out together is a pretty damn good day. There doesn't have to be An Event to make it a Good Day.
(I'm picking up w/ #11 cuz those other ones added by MBBVP are to-be-ignored.)
Abby
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Every day is a great day, no matter what life throws your way.
Jerry taught us that!

I should have said "feel free to add your own if you're a Tripawd." No Monkeybutts allowed -- unless we can kiss them!!!

13. Always accept compliments with grace and alacrity. After all, they're true!

14. Repeat #8
I think, #8 "It's all about the cookies!" should be in their twice!!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Another one
#I can still do anything on three legs.
This includes: getting on furniture to nap, chasing birds, tearing down a screen door, unbuckling the seat belt and climbing into the front seat of the car... Nope, three legs doesn't slow them down a bit.
-Chloe's mom
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Yeah, Tripawsds smell!!! Tripawds smell chicken. Tripawds smell beef. Tripawds smell cheese. And yeah, Tripawds smell all you stinky Monkeybutts!!!!
