Last weekend I was on an Australian forum and the discussion was related to amputation due to osteosarcoma. One poster in particular had me annoyed and I am being polite at what they had to say about amputation with dogs. I said my piece and broke it down into the amputation side to the discussion and to the osteosarcoma facts. I sent the poster who had originally only asked for the recommendation of a surgeon, here and told them there were hundreds of stories of dog owners who would do it all again. My concern is the poster may have been put off treatment due to the ill informed comments of one person who clearly had no idea.
I was hoping that maybe some of you might like to post your stories, pics, videos on the Amputation forum on my website forum. Some traffic comes to the website via the forum and that is likey to increase as word gets out the oncologists are answering questions for dog owners. Cancer Forum I want users to get balanced info.
If any of you can help that would be fantastic. I have links there for this website but if you do post can you please include a link back here. For anyone wanting more information there is plenty here from many people and a dog owner can get a clear view of the situation in making a decision. I am so tired of dog owners getting bad advice and potentially giving up due to thinking its not worth it. As we all know when you find out your dog has osteosarcoma or requires amputation for another reason, it is difficult enough to cope with hearing this without having people tell you what they think about people who consider such a step and all the horror stories.
Thanks to anyone that can help me on this

Hey Liza!
Frodo must be so proud of your spunk! Goodness knows he's a stellar example of quality time after amputation! Yoj are carrying onnhis legacy beautifully!
I don't have a chance to checkmout your website right n ow, but I will. Tripawds.com did a survey not too long ago aaking if people regretted the decision to amputate...how long the cat or dog lived after amputation, etc. Jerry will nave to give you the ,"link"...don't know how to do that. The results definitely favored amputation, even in some cases where there was a very s h ort ti e after surgery and crossing over. Anyway, just thought this might be helpful for your website.
Take care!!
