Sorry I have been M.I.A. I have been thinking about everyone and praying for all your fur babies. We got a new puppy and I am so happy to have her. I love her. But I am still grieving over my Lily. Some days it hits me like a ton of bricks. She is really gone. Just like that our time is over. It doesn't seem possible. That was my girl. My heart. And now she is gone. There are nights we all feel it and my boys miss her and cry for her. We all love Violet to pieces and she helps ease the pain. But it's still there. So here is a little picture tribute to both of my girls. I hope you all are well.Â
Â
Lily begging for some chocolate a week before she left us.
Lily and her boys at the park.  My favorite sight when I walked into the house. I miss this face.  Asleep in the RV with her BFF.  Lily's absolute favorite thing to do- SWIM...especially with her boys. ÂLily fishing for clams in the a bucket at the "magic lake". We called it the magic lake because she came out an entirely different color. Her fur was never so clean and soft. She loved that lake. She would play in it for hours.Â
ÂOn the boat on the Magic Lake.
We miss her so much. Sometimes it still knocks the wind out of me to realize our time with her is over. We have this little love now and the house is no longer heart breakingly silent. She is a joy. She makes us laugh and I know my Lily sent her to us. There are many things that hse does that we say she is "pulling a Lily" or taking a play right out of Lily's playbook. There are  many things that are solely Violet. And we like that. She isn't replacing Lily at all. She is helping us heal our hearts and helping our hears open and grow bigger.Â
She was cold on our first camping trip so I wrapped her up in a blanket.Â
That face! It gets me every time.Â
Watching her boys swim in the creek. A few more weeks and she will have all her shots and she can join them!
Tuckered out with one of her boys. So sweet. Our pups really take a piece of our hearts. I wouldn't have it any other way. Peace and love to you all.Â
Such beautiful pictures chock full of happy memories of sweet Lily Bear! I LOVE the run of her jumping into the Magic Lake with her boys! Visualizing how happy she there...how she loved to play in the lake for hours.. melting my heart with these loving memories! Of course seeing Lily work you over with that soulful look of hers so she could get chocolate..love that!!!
And Violet...OMD!! She is adorable!!! Yeah, that face is just as cute as can be! Having joy and laughter back in your life makes Lily sooo happy! No, Violet isn't a "replacement" because LilyBear is never really gone. She's always by your side protecting all of you.
Thank you somuch for updating us and sharing all these family pictures! Welook forward to seeing more! Can't wait to see Violet take her first swim! Kiss that cute face for me!
Sending love and lots of hugs!

First off ... she's ADORABLE!!! Second, don't ever feel like you have to apologize for not being here... sometimes this is a hard place for me to be too!!!
I get what you say about "pulling a Lily"... I say that my new girl, Jasper Lily, is "channeling her inner Shelby"...Â
The silence got to me too and while it took for forever to embrace and love little JL, I do... and I know Shelby's paws had her say in sending her my way. Lily is ALWAYS with you ... you might not always see it but you will feel it.. that love in your heart? That is her - for forever!
Hugs and love,
alison with spirit shelby in her heart (and little jasper too)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Awwww. You don't need to feel badly at all, you are getting to know Violet and that's what matters. It's totally OK to be missing Lily while laughing and having fun with Violet. That is just the yin and yang of life, you can't have one without the other but I think what you are finding is balance. That Violet sure does look like a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing such sweet pics.

I agree with what everyone has said, it's definitely the ying and yang of life (very well put). I have adopted two since my Jake passed and I still think about him all the time. The silence of a house with no dog is maddening. Violet is adorable! Nothing can make you smile like a puppy, and Lily knew that. One dog never replaces another in your heart, your heart just get's bigger and bigger. I hope to have mine popping out of my ears by the time it's my turn to go and then, like Christine says, be greeted by tons of wet slobbery kisses at the bridge 🙂Â
