I have been using my super Samson007 spy abilities and have been snooping around the 'puter and easedropping on mom and dad talkin. (They think I am sleeping). There has been alot of monkey business going on in our house lately too….and it ain't me.

First, mom and dad bought a new dog bed and wouldn't let me touch it!..well, let me tell you that didn't last long. I feebly limped over to the new bed that was up against the wall, leaned on it and gave mom the sad eyes and sure enough she let me lay on it. THEN she sent dad to the store and he brought back another one….hmmm. I know I am special but I only need one bed.

Then, I hear mom talking on the phone telling someone all about me and Daisy and how Daisy crossed the bridge last month. I have been very sad since Daisy left me. Dad has been very sad too, sometimes we just sit on the couch together and think about Daisy.

Then mom brought home some new dog toys and treats….and whadda you think? Not for me apparently. They are still in the bag sitting on the shelf.

Mom and dad started packing up the car. I heard "road trip".  I was getting kind of excited, especially when they packed up my water bowl and travel stuff. They said we are going on Sunday.

This got me real suspicious so I snuck on the puter at night and found this email:

Nov 14- "Lady" at shelter. 10 y.o. Surrendered when her owner was killed.

Well, I feel real sorry for her but heck- she is in N. Carolina, which is a LONG way off. (I know mom and dad took me to Virginia once) I thought it was just a story from one of moms bloggy friends. (Dad says I have doggy friends and mom has bloggy friends)

Then, there was this other email:

Nov 18 Lady leaving NC. Will meet you in Binghamton at 2pm on Sunday

Oh uh Samson. Looks like you are about to know what it is like to have a monkeybutt bugging you....

We think she looks like a sweetpea and you should give her a chance.

Jackie and Abby

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Oh Samson!  It sounds like great news to us over here!

She looks like your twin!!!  Maybe it's a long lost twin sister?

Her Retired AvatarComet - 1999 to 2011

She departed us unexpectedly  January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.

She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

oooh, she is pretty, but looks like you have more spots, so you will definitely be in charge!!!  glad she's able to hitch a ride to your house, but, you are still always welcome here in ET.  hope she knows how lucky she is to join your family (who wouldn't want a cool brother like you!!)

Oh Super Pal Sampson!  This is bad.  This is really bad.

I can't help you out of this dotted jam, buddy.  When mommy's get it in their head, they want something - it's hell-bent for leather time!

I'll keep all of my paws (4) crossed, that she'll just sit in a corner somewhere and never bother you.  Just remember, you can cry on my shoulder if you need to. (not too much though - cause folks might talk)

Oh what a sweet girl! You're gonna need to give her tons of tlc and share everything with her! She lost her family very suddenly and now your mom & dad & you will be her family. What a great story!!

You are so lucky to have a new sister!

Huggs & wags to you all!

You are gonna have to be EXTRA nice to her Samson, she has been through quite a bit from what it sounds like.  I have to say that my boys have been missing having a sister in their life, you are a lucky boy to get one without even having to ask!

Hugs and congrats,

Elizabeth and Sammy

Sammy says if you are lucky you will get extra EXTRA extra treats for being a "good boy".

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

Wow! Samson, your pawrents are great! They give homes to the dogs who are NOT puppies! Older dogs need love and homes, too, and it is so great that your family will do this. Samson, you have very special folks.

Congratulations on the new furry family member!
Adopting a rescue is an awesome thing to do. Adopting a rescue that's not a puppy or very young dog is an amazing thing to do!!!
And I so belive dogs get lonely and it will be wondeful for Samson to have a friend.
She is such beautiful girl- the two are going to be a stunning pair!

Samson...never fear it sounds like angel Daisy maybe guiding her there!

Just maybe  you are the right fella to help her fill some of the loss of her owner with a furever home ....and maybe just maybe you might feel a bit better too!

Congrats and please keep us posted on your new adventures!

She's MY kinda Lady! What a beauty!

Just remember everyone's going to be worried that you're feeling left out when she makes her debut, so play it up and eat as many treats as you can stuff in your mouth!
