I think I mentioned a while back that my friend had made me (for my bday) a little stone figurine of Shelby as a quadpawd (she got it for me long before Shelby had her surgery). It was adorable and hand-crafted with little sparkles for a collar. Well once Shelby had her leg amputated, she reached out to the artist to see about getting on with Shelby as a tripawd. The artist had never done a 3-legged dog before and it's amazing how much it looks like my Shelby and it's the correct leg that was amputated.
My dear friend also came onto this website to see the yellow bandanna that Shelby wore with pride to make sure it looked exactly the same!
She gave it to me last year - on the one year anniversary of when Shelby broke her leg and thus my long journey to where I am today began. It's been a rough and emotional year - filled with lots of highs and lows but one thing that remained the same is the support, love and compassion from all my friends who have helped me stay strong and of course, the amazing Tripawd community.
Cheers and enjoy!!! This gift is priceless to me ... (those are totally Shelby "ears")!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Oooohhhhh! This is so beautiful. A real treasure. Who is the artist?

That is just precious, Alison. The artist really did nail the ears! I see Shelby's banner so often and every time I say, "Aww, Shelbers". Did you call her Shelbers? My sister has a dog named Shelby and she calls her "Shelbers" but I thought maybe you did too.
Hugs,
Amy & Spirit Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Amy, I did call her Shelbers!!! That's too funny. 🙂
Thank you everyone... I don't know who the artist is - a local artist here found at a farmer's market! She asked him to make a custom one for me. I do love it. 🙂

Sallllly don't flush your tablet down the toilet, it sure sounds like that's a Verizon issue. Hope they can figure it out for you.

Awe... thanks y'all! I told my friend tonight that it got lots of compliments! BTW - when my friend came to the Tripawds website to figure out what the bandanna actually said, she said that Shelby's banner came up! How cool is that?!?
It does make me very happy; it sits right next to Shelby's ashes. Peaceful. My girl is home.
