PAST:
Our first dog Shadow, 2000 – 2007.
PRESENT:
Linda, who we got as a young adult in 2007. As far as I can tell, she hasn't changed a bit other than her ability to get dirtier, wetter, and messier with each passing year.
…you all know that story by now.
thanks john....once again, there is coffee coming out of my nose...poor bernie, he just can't catch a break!
charon & gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Somehow I knew Bernie had changed a lot, an awful lot. I wonder what he'll be like as a senior...
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/
Charon,
I've learned that if I see Maxidad's name attached to a post, I finish drinking my coffee and take a potty break before I open it up....

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Bernie may be a creature from hell but I think he's one of greatest dogs ever! I can remember that photo of him in John's lap as a puppy and how John's eyes were twinkling with glee for getting such a cute and adorable puppy!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
How can anyone NOT smile when looking at these adorable pics!
Or else run screaming from BernieZilla!!!!
Ahahahahahahahha! These are terrific.

Cadence Faye: Born 10/30/04, stepped into our hearts 12/23/2004. Rear leg tumor found 7/24/11 by mom and dad, Xray on 7/25/11, Osteosarcoma suspected 7/26/11, amputation 7/29/11, Carboplatin started 8/23. Met free so far!
What a sweetpea that Cadence is. I just wanna kiss the top of her fuzzy little head.
And Bernie - sooooo cute when he was a wee tyke. (Isn't there some saying about how the devil disguises himself in the form he knows you'll find the most irresistable???)

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Oh, sweet Cadence! You are a love! Sooooo adorable.

I should have added though... the difference is, with Max you just want to pick him up and hug him and kiss him, but with Ron, you want to go out for a really big steak with him.
Actually, Max probably would have been on board for the really big steak idea too...

Abbysmom, that is quite possibly the greatest compliment anyone ever could give Max, who in many ways embodied the pillar of manly awesomeness that is Ron Swanson. Some Swanson quotes that Max (and I) both would agree with wholeheartedly include:
RON SWANSON said:
• “You may have thought you heard me say I wanted a lot of bacon and eggs, but what I said was, 'Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.'”
• "I call this a 'Turf 'n' turf.' It's a 16-ounce T-bone served with a 24-ounce porterhouse."
• [When asked if he's ever had a turkey burger] "Is that a fried turkey leg inside a grilled hamburger? If so, yes. Delicious."
• “You need to understand that we are headed to the most special place on Earth. When I’m done eating a Mulligan’s meal, for weeks afterwards there are flecks of meat in my mustache and I refuse to clean it because every now and then a piece of meat will fall into my mouth.”
And for those of you unfortunate enough not to know who Ron Swanson is, everything you need to know about him can be found in the RON SWANSON PYRAMID OF GREATNESS, the definitive guide to living the perfect life:
