We were supposed to be waiting until tomorrow, but Mary and I just couldn't wait and decided to beg the breeder to let us bring Max home yesterday (Easter). She relented, and we raced down to Pueblo to pick him up.

What a fantastic little boy he is. First night away from his mom and 9 siblings (yeah, a huge litter for Rottweilers) and Max did little more than let me know it was my job to ensure he was taken outside every couple of hours and let him drink some water on the way back in.

I've posted a bunch of pictures here : http://www.sqlt...../pics/max/

Do you think the monkeybutts need a new recruit?

Sorry, with 22 forums already, we just don't see the need for another specifically for topics about new puppies. That's what this Anything Goes forum is for! Thanks for the suggestion though.

I cannot tell you how much having a new puppy in the house has helped since Nikki passed. I really wasn't sure about the timing here, but I can say that after 2 days I'm hooked! (Ok, so I was hooked after 2 minutes, but that's beside the point!) Something very healing about a puppy..

As for Max, yeah, he is kinda cute, isn't he?

Yes, yes, how could you ever say NO to that face?!  What a precious little boy!  I want to hug him immediately!  I love squishy puppies, more than anything.  Dang it.  Now I want one...

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

Care to share your thoughts about getting a new dog? We're seeking feedback from those who have welcomed another dog into their lives after losing the one they loved. Thanks!
