We just got back today from my first camping trip since my amputation and I would have
pictures to prove it – but my mom is a complete airhead and she forgot to take pictures.
We had a big discussion on how she was going to take pictures of me doing all the fun stuff
that I used to do before my amputation and she forgot the camera every single time – so all I get to show you all is a
picture of me with a sticker in my foot.
We get to go again in 2 weeks so maybe next time she will remember to take pictures.
oh Riley! I am so glad you got to go camping! I was always so afraid I wouldnt be able to go to our cabin again after I lost my leg, but I have been there a lot of times already! I know you will go camping lots!! Tell your mom to remember to take pictures!!

the monkeydogs only THINK they have invaded the tripawd state
Where did you go? What did you do? How many butts did you sniff? Were they interesting? You don't need pictures, but please tell me the good stuff so I can enjoy it with you!
Love, Dakota
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/
Well if truth be told - I only got to sniff on one butt on this camping trip - I felt jipped - but one is better than none right?!? His name was Jack - sort little yappy thing that never shut up - except for today when I got ready to leave - I think he had a crush on me cuz he got all quiet and shy like when he had to say good bye...
I got to do 6 hot laps around the campground - which was a great time - and I was exhausted!!!!!! Had drool going everywhere - it was sooo much fun.
Then I sorta got chased by a big huge black thing my mom called a standard poodle with a really bad haircut.....He wasn't very nice - and I didn't like him.
I got to see tons of kids - and they all thought I was cute.....Kids are so perceptive
Unfortunately, I got kinda sick last night - but I think it was just "too much clubbin" and I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open.
I can't hardly wait - In 2 weeks I get to do it all over again......
Oh....my mom said we went to San Simeon (next to Hearst Castle) .....and if anyone wants to meet us there - just tell us when!!!! I will bring the chicken strips and my mom will bring the cocktails.
Woo HOO!! We love camping!! We've stayed at the San Simeon Creek Campground lots of times cause it's gots such awesome trails and you can hears the ocean at nights. How'd you get aways with no pictures?? My momsa say we'll brings the steakses if you brings the cocktails!!

Oh Riley! That *sounds* like FUN! (not enough pics to judge- but I take your word for it!) Can't wait until your mom takes more in 2 weeks!

Abby says: "Camping?! Fun! I'm jealous! I just got to go on a road trip too to my grandma's, but camping sounds like too much fun. Mom?! Can we go camping????"
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
That sounds like a great time! How did you get up in the camper?

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
Sammy -
Getting up in the camper was pretty easy actually – I have a 6ft. ramp that I run up and down on – you can sorta see it leaning again the tire and behind the chairs…..My mom contacted the company cuz they also make an 8 ft. ramp and she wants one…..but she wants to see if they will make us one that is 10 ft. – I should have my new ramp before we go camping again so I will have my dad take pictures – that way you can be sure to see them…..LOL.
Rosie -
Where did you find trails that said it was ok for dogs? My humans said there weren't any – and I got to go for a ride in the truck to check out the Washburn place and I didn't see any signs that said I could go on trails… Plus – Ranger Rick was out and about and I didn't want to get in trouble.
Wyatt -
My mom wants to take a rode trip the last week of October or the first week of November cuz my dad is turning 50 – so maybe we could meet at the Grand Canyon or maybe in Vegas for the rodeo and NHRA. Isn't it already snowing at your house by then?
We love San Simeon! They even have dog friendly hotels right on the beach. We love staying there. Some really good wineries too - watch out! Our last vacation with Mackenzie was spent in San Simeon on the beach - she just loved being in the ocean. It's a magical kind of place. You are pretty lucky Riley to be going on a camping trip there. Did anyone say steaks and cocktails?? We're there for sure!
Kami, Angel Mackenzie, Kobe and Scarlett
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Rileys camping trip was totally believeable because there was at least a picture of Riley in front of the camper... your post doesnt show anything at all
